Without doubt the Grizedale Lodge is a superb Guest House located in the Grizedale Forest. If you want peace and quiet or a little bit of adventure at the nearby Grizedale Forest Visitor Centre either way this is the perfect place to stay.
My wife and I were absolutely elated with our stay at this marvellous hotel that lived up to very bit of our expectations. It was our 1st stay here. We chose this place because we wanted to get away from the busy touristy parts of Lake District and due to good reviews about it. Though the prices were a tad high, we enjoyed quality for the money paid. Ees Wyke is located on a slight rise overlooking green pastures and Esthwaite Water, far from the madding crowd. It is a refurbished country house that is clean and beautifully decorated interiorly with absolutely comfortable furnishings. The managers, Richard and Margaret, paid the utmost care to detail, from welcoming guests to preparing and presenting a exquisite set dinner for two, to maintaining cleanliness of and ensuring comfort in the boudoir and giving polite suggestions for spending an idyllic day in the surrounding area.
A lovely traditional old country home, with wonderful breakfasts and a roaring log fire. Amanda made us feel very much at home and a nice little touch was the evening tea and cake in the lounge in front of the log fire. The Expedia website didn't make it clear that the swimming pool and fitness centre were located one mile away from the hall and that you need your own towels, but I believe the Graythwaite Hall website does.
Statyed 3th Oct for 1 night. Very comfortable hotel in a lovely spot, easy access to the southern lakes with some excellent walking. Staff were very friendly, food very good, all in all a very enjoyable and relaxing stay. Would definately recommend.
This rural and graceful hotel proved to be exactly what we were looking for. Very quiet, virtually no traffic, close to several beautiful locations and importantly easy to find with good parking in the grounds. Very well-appointed establishment with extremely helpful staff, which made for a very relaxed and comfortable stay. Comfortable bed and an excellent en-suite. Although we had other plans for evening dinner each day, we did enjoy the huge selection on offer for breakfast. Would certainly recommend this hotel to those looking for peace and comfort in a fabulous area of the Lakes.

We would not normally book anything rated 2* but as we booked last minute and could not find much in the area we needed to be in we chose the Rusland Pool based on the good reviews. We were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived, definitely worth more than the 2 stars given on the web site. Spotlessly clean, staff were all lovely and our room, 1, was fab. The hotel is every bit as good as any 4* we have stayed in. Breakfast is cooked to order and was really good. Would definitely recommend, don't be put off by the 2*, it most definately is not.
We were on the first floor with a lovely view over the gardens and glimpses of the lake. About 5 minute drive out of town but this is probably a plus in busy holiday periods. Full breakfast included in the rate and free parking and Wi Fi meant it was extremely good value. Room was fairly large.

The receptionist on arrival was superb and extremely helpful. We enjoyed a lovely evening meal and had a very pleasant nights sleep in a very spacious room. Breakfast was very filling although we didn't like the porridge! The breakfast set us up for a lovely start to the day. We will definitely return to this hotel and would recommend it to all those travelling to this beautiful part of the country.
