"This is a very smart hotel which is kept clean and tidy. It has a very nice bar, a restaurant and leisure club. I only used the bar but did eat there - the menu is very limited but fine for a bar. There is plenty of free parking and breakfast is available - I felt £14 was on the high side for what was an average breakfast. "Lovely hotel. Fairly inexpensive. Very convenient - short distance from major roads but didn't feel like it. Clean but basic. Looked like it had seen better days - clear signs of people trying hard to keep the place clean and fresh but it had a TV from the 80s and few comforts in the room. The only thing that would put me off staying again is the mattress which was the worst I've ever slept on. My partner weighs around 90kg - he lay down and sank into the bed, causing a massive dip. Quite similar to University Halls of Residence, which are let out to summer visitors, except for the outstanding quality and cleanliness of the premises and the courtesy and friendliness of all the staff.
