"The bedrooms are a two block building which is separate from the country inn. They are located behind the Inn. We found the room and bathroom to be clean. The bed was comfortable.There was instant hot water when needed.The food was very good. The staff were helpful and friendly."

"The room was clean and the bathroom had been recently remodeled. Checking in was a bit difficult with the management not on premise. The owners are making efforts to upgrade the property and could spend some time tidying up the front parking area and entry which is not very inviting. "

"We booked a suite at the Spread Eagle. It was excellent, very spacious, over two floors, which was good for me as I dislike sleeping on the ground floor. The bed was a super king, which is always a gold star as that's what we are used to at home. One of the most comfortable beds we've ever encountered in a hotel. The bathroom had a good sized shower and an excellent bath-wider than the normal hotel bath. I would have liked a little information in the room about the wifi, the restaurant, menu...

"Good value and good position to walk into Oxford centre. "

"Comfortable stay. Property little dated and could do with a fresh coat of paint. Could do with a bit more attention on cleaning cobwebs on windows and dust on skirting boards. But clean bedding and towels. Owners pleasent and helpful. Only 2 parking spaces outside property but more parking on side street with a permit ( can get one from property). Lovely breakfast choice of cereals toast yogurts and fruit also offered bean and egg. Shops and restaurants a couple of minutes walk away. "

"Adequate housing. Tight room. Bed not real comfortable. Had to walk over a mile to the train station when it advertised as "close" to the station. 3/4 mile to the Oxford sites. "

"The hotel is really quite nice and the steak was delicious. However they really need reception and restaurant staff to smile and be friendly and welcoming. It makes all the difference!"

"Ideal for my one night "

"This was a convenient place for us as we were heading to a wedding nearby. The room was clean, and the en-suite surprising large. However there were spots on the wall / that looked like something spilled this was a shame as the room has a lovely decoration - but the marks were noticeable. However everything else was excellent - staff/ food we had breakfast and lunch while there. There are also lots of places to eat close by!"

"when people say no frills they mean no frills. 2 towels, no small ones, shampoo no conditioner. i do have to say that the toilet paper wasn’t folded or anything it looks just used from the last guest and the kettle still had water in it and looked gross. it’s great location but it’s rare to have a quiet moment there’s always something going on (we didn’t mind though but it’s something to consider if you’re a light sleeper). we stayed for two nights and were there for oxford not a luxurious hotel...
