I liked the location and also the modern design of the hotel and furnishings overall. The rooms are however very small, there is very little storage for clothing with just a hanging rail above the fridge ( yes, terrible). The bathroom is also very small and narrow. The worst for me was the lack of an actual breakfast. No, you do not get to go to a main restaurant and get to choose from a variety of cooked and continental together with fresh tea and coffee. At this hotel they bring you a wicker basket with some mini school meals type of foods: a mini box of rice crispies, a mini muffin, one babybell, a mini milk, a mini juice, mini spreads ( jam, nutella, marmalade and butter) but without any toast ( perhaps the hotel expects you to eat these spreads with your fingers straight from the little pots), one mini weetabix. This hotel isn’t upfront about the breakfast offering on the booking platforms however they do charge standard full breakfast rates as all other hotels that actually do offer a real breakfast. I will not stay here again and I don’t recommend it to anyone. For context, yes I did query at reception why they offered such a poor breakfast and if they have other options and the answer was ‘that’s all we have’.

I had a wonderful stay at Judges Court Hotel. The location is excellent — close to everything and perfect for exploring the area. The room was super clean, the bed was very comfortable, and overall the hotel felt welcoming and well‑kept. It was a great stay and I would happily return.

The stay was lovely, and property was historic and beautiful! They offered afternoon cake & tea, and a lovely breakfast every day. I do wish there were a few additional small details / services available, for example room service, a butler to help with the bags, different types of coffee that the breakfast staff could make (instead of doing it yourself with the coffee machine). I do understand and appreciate that it’s a smaller inn, and more peaceful because of that.

My expectations were high for a few days of luxury. I searched for a Liverpool Central Hotel with pool facilities. This is always a criteria if mine, to be able to relax my body in a pool after a long day of exploring. Perhaps I was naive, the Pool was not what I "Hope"'d for at the Hope Hotel, it was not included in the hotel rate!! - A spa facility that seems to operate independently of the Hope Hotel! Huge disappointment for me. My next disappointment was the room not the 'deluxe' I expected: very small- small window that was long overdue a window cleaner. On the other hand a lovely bathroom with nice towels and of course the robe, I couldn't use to go to the pool. The only negatives in the bathroom was a cracked sink and empty body lotion dispensar. The beds were comfy with quality sheets.

Good: Free parking and a good location. Bad: The hotel is similar to, or possibly lower class than, a Travelodge. The room is missing basic facilities expected of a 3/4 star hotel, as advertised: No power socket near the bed to charge a phone. No bedside light switch. You have to walk to the door to turn the main light on or off. There is a floor lamp, but its switch is underneath the desk, making it very inconvenient to operate. The twin room has only one chair and no sofa, despite the room photos on the hotel website showing a sofa, which I would expect in a 4 star hotel. The bathroom basin has no mixer tap, just two separate, old-fashioned taps, which feel very outdated and are hardly practical by modern hotel standards. Unhelpful reception staff. I called reception twice to request an extra pillow but received no answer. I then went down to reception and asked in person. The receptionist said he would send one, but after waiting for some time, I returned to reception. He said he was very busy and would see to it later, mentioning that he had another 30 check-ins to deal with, although there were no customers waiting at the time. I said I could take the pillow myself if he simply gave it to me. He asked for my room number again and said he would try to find one from another room, as the hotel was full. It was surprising that the hotel apparently had no spare pillows. He eventually brought one.
