(19 reviews) The Staff at Riad Ekla were friendly, efficient, nothing was too much trouble. The Riad was clean, tidy. Moustapha on Reception was excellent as was the other Moustapha the waiter along with his sister who was in charge of house keeping . A wonderful warm atmosphere , we felt like family. Highly recommend staying here. Super easy access to the souks and New Marrakech without being too noisy. We booked trips through the Riad which were wonderful and airport transfers. Nothing was too much trouble and we had a wonderful Honeymoon. (28 reviews) I was looking for a stressfree retreat and this was exactly that. The entire place was beautifully presented and every single member of staff from management, waiters, house keeping and gardeners were just so kind and polite. I had no excursions planned but when i changed my mind, the hotel arranged this to meet my individual preferences. The transport and guides were equally as wonderful. The location is remote but perfect for having peace and quiet, yet still close enough for a nice drive to the city. Everyone was so kind and considerate and treat me so well. I would definitely return! The shuttle service they arranged was on time and very professional. (261 reviews) This is a nice hotel but definitely not a 5 start as claimed by Expedia. Reasons for this: 1\. Mini bar and coffee offered in the room - 2 coffee pods, not restocked. Nothing but a bottle of water in the mini fridge. Barely any choice of tea. And 2 mini milk pods. 2\. All inclusive does not include access to the spa facilities (understand treatments are extra but seriously?!). 3\. No extra pillows or blankets in the room which is standard. 4\. The fixtures in the bathroom are coming away from the wall. No one is checking the ongoing maintenance. 5\. No handsoap, just mini bars of soap which are very wasteful. 6\. Paid for a pool side room. It's a shallow puddle outside the room doors. No cushions in sight, you have to sit on hard concrete. 7\. The outdoor bars close at 6\. The food is incredibly limited. Simple snacks like fries aren't on the menu. You have to be friends with the barmen to get fries. 8\. Service - mentioned it's a birthday trip. Absolutely nothing. Not even a complimentary drink or snack. Definitely a 3 at the most. A riad would be better value and you would not be out of the city where everything is walkable. This is located a 25 minute drive from the Medina where all the great bars and restaurants are. All of the above is related to the hotel itself and not the service we received. (181 reviews) I traveled with a group of friends, and we had an amazing time! From the moment we landed, everything was smooth and well-organized. Our driver picked us up promptly from the airport, and when we arrived at the hotel, the staff greeted us warmly with big smiles. They gave us a quick introduction about our stay, what to expect, and even helped us exchange our foreign currency. The rooms were standard and had air conditioning, which was perfect for the warm weather. Breakfast was alright, but what truly made our stay special was the incredible staff. They were always friendly, happy to help, and even taught me a few phrases in the local language! It was such a wonderful experience, and I’d love to visit again! We had a balcony room that over looked the pool (most rooms over look the pool) & the evening entertainment is held outside next to the pool every night & it kept us awake until midnight every night. It’s unnecessarily really loud. There is a TV in the room but you can’t hear the TV at all over the evening entertainment that’s going on, even with the TV volume up on the highest. On the last day we spoke to other people that told us they asked to move rooms as it was so noisy. Wish we had done that on the first night! We went for the full board option but didn’t like any of the food at all as was mostly Moroccan but we were in Morocco so I suppose we should have expected it! We chose to eat out a few times even though we’d paid for food at the hotel. Just would have liked some more plain options for those that wouldn’t like all the food with Moroccan spices on. The restaurant was a buffet style & everything was always cold - warm, never hot. We wouldn’t book to stay there again purely because of how noisy it is at night & we didn’t enjoy the food at all. I also booked this hotel as it said there was free WiFi throughout the hotel but this is not the case at all. No WiFi reception in the rooms (other people said the same, that they had no WiFi reception in the room). You could sometimes get a WiFi reception near the restaurant or near the hotel entrance but only sometimes.
