Sorrento Coast Kid friendly Holidays

We had a wonderful July stay at the Grand Hotel Hermitage & Villa Romita with our 8‑year‑old daughter. This beautiful, traditional family‑run hotel is spotless, well maintained, and full of charm. We were greeted warmly in the car park by Renato and Giovanni, and throughout our stay William, Gloria, and the team made sure we were comfortable and happy. Communication before our trip was excellent, and the hotel kindly upgraded us to a room with a balcony offering breathtaking views of the pool, Sorrento, and Mount Vesuvius. The waiting staff were fantastic — patient, friendly, and happy to let me practise my Italian. Head Waiter Salvatore and his team were incredibly attentive. A special mention goes to Tony, who made our stay even more enjoyable, looking after us at the pool, during meals, and in the evenings. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced — the club sandwich is a must‑try. A truly memorable stay with exceptional hospitality.

This hotel is more like a guest house than a hotel; it is that personal and thoughtfully designed and decorated. The owners are on site and are so charming and welcoming. Staff goes beyond what one might expect.

The restaurant upstairs Vecivous was a total disappointment for us the wine was great service was amazing!!! The chef didn’t listen to my request not to have cream in my food as I am lactose intolerant…… we did the surprise menus and specifically asked for no cream and no pork.. 3-5 dishes came with cream… a chef if you weren’t able to accommodate maybe we should’ve been told that it is not possible to surprise menu!! I asked for a simple pasta dish with the flavours of Sorrento/Amalfi I was hoping to get something with some cherry tomatoes and basil garlic I got boiled spaghetti in canned tomato sauce and that’s it it came out just as is on the plate with nothing on it no cheese not a single leaf of basil it was extremely disappointing…. The whole dinner experience was ruined for us my fiancé was trying to eat because he’s not lactose intolerant but it did ruin the experience for both of us! They did comp my mean but asked my fiance to pay so we ended up paying for the wine and that was Lovley but the food was totally not worth it… we were there 2 years ago and the food was amazing!! Which is why we decided to go back to the same restaurant. I understand as a chef it might be hard for you to accommodate but also don’t send dishes like that out to your guests that doesn’t reflect while on you as a chef or on the actual hotel and the experience.

It is a very nice hotel, but it is far away from Sorrento beach and on a mountain. Great views for Sorrento coast and hills. Old property a little bit, but it kept clean and neat. Staff is amazing and breakfast was great!
