This is one of the best resorts. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The food and drinks were good and the pools were amazing.

I’ve been to lots of resorts before, but this one is a bit unique. The mascot is a penguin super cute the scented toilet paper 😂 they sprayed your bed and robe with a scented linen spray loved it! When leaving the room in the evening, they would come in and prepare your room for bed. I never had a bad meal. From the restaurant manager Augustin who greeted us every day knew us by name. All the sweet servers Jonathan, Victor, Lazaro attention to detail they made my mom’s birthday so memorable. Also the pool servers Gerard and Jose are so attentive I will miss every single one of them. Never went to the beach due to the storms, but overall the breathless views of the beach and resort 10/10. I joined there subscription so I can travel all there other resorts worldwide. But I can’t wait to revisit Devossion in playa never disappointed. Cheers!

Great property, amazing food, decent service.. after that downhill....We reserved the pool level suite, great room with amazing wildlife moving through it. Peaceful and serene! Bed on interior matched a sheet of plywood in comfort. A bike was used on property, when you could find one.. Property has amazing scenery, room service is an upcharge, couldnt find ice... oh well. Would stay here again for the food and scenery in same villa.. not for the service.

We stayed in a Garden View room. On our first night around 10 PM, the AC began leaking in our room in Building 5, and we had to be transferred to Building 4. It was frustrating having to walk back, pack everything up, and switch rooms that late at night. A bellhop to assist us immediately would have been appreciated, and I was hoping the resort might offer some type of upgrade or gesture for the inconvenience, but that wasn’t provided. That said, the hospitality and service from the staff were excellent, and the food was outstanding. If you’re looking for a resort that actually feels like Mexico, this place delivers. Unlike some of the large concrete-style resorts, the property feels vibrant, tropical, and full of character, especially with the wildlife throughout the grounds. The lazy river and pool areas were a highlight. The waterfalls, bridges, and overall design make the resort feel unique and relaxing. The drinks were decent, though nothing particularly memorable. The Don Julio bar was a standout, especially for the martinis. Food was easily a 10/10. The buffet was average compared to the specialty restaurants, but still good. Overall, I wouldn’t necessarily return every year, but it’s definitely a resort I’d recommend experiencing at least once and would consider visiting again in the future.

*Hotel does not inform you pre-arrival or upon arrival that seaweed makes it impossible to use beach/ocean. The odor permeates everywhere, even when you are in guest room with doors shut. Understand its an act of nature, but it would be appropriate and appreciated to acknowledge to guests and perhaps offer a diffuser or room spray to mediate the terrible smell. *After checking in, you are asked to wait in lobby (assuming it was for bellman and luggage)....nope! a 30+ minute pitch to visit other properties in the area. Honestly, with jet lag, thirst and being on vacation it's a rather unprofessional gesture to guests. Be warned: you are told door to door it will take 90 minutes for the visit. NOPE! It's a full sales pitch (think timeshare presentation) that would have been FOUR HOURS if we did not simply walk out. *Overall staff are lovely, espeically restaurants, housekeeping and pool. Tempest restaurant reception staff not welcoming, nor do they open the door when dinner service begins at 5PM. at 5:10PM guests waiting outside just let themselves in. Sushi is very basic, not fresh and 80% rice. *Spa may be saving grace of the property. Waited till last day to use and in hindsight should have visited a couple times. *Upgraded package to Club not worth the money - food presentations look like a kids buffet menu.
