Staff was very nice and helpful. Drinks were good. Food was horrible. Beach had lots of seaweed and was not swimmable

The service was great; I only wish they had considered that we booked two rooms instead of one and provided a connecting room so that we could all be together. That was my only concern; otherwise, everything was great.

Relaxing Retreat with Incredible Service — Watch out for the Seaweed We recently stayed at Akumal Wellness Resort in Akumal, Mexico, and overall had a wonderful and restorative experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel truly welcome — warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. The people here are what make this place so special. One of the highlights of our trip was the spa — the services were absolutely amazing. Every treatment we experienced was expertly done, leaving us relaxed and refreshed. It’s a must-do if you're staying at the resort. The food and drinks were another highlight. Every meal was delicious, and the drinks were always on point — fresh, flavorful, and plentiful. Whether poolside or at dinner, the culinary offerings exceeded our expectations. The only downside of our trip was the sargassum (seaweed) on the beach. Unfortunately, it was heavy during our visit, which made the beach largely unusable. While this is a natural and seasonal issue that many Caribbean destinations face, it was disappointing not to be able to fully enjoy the otherwise beautiful beachfront. That said, the resort made up for it in many other ways. If you're looking for a relaxing escape with great people, fantastic food, and top-tier wellness services, Akumal Wellness Resort is worth considering. Just be sure to check the seaweed conditions if the beach is a key part of your vacation plans. Would have been 5 stars if not for the seaweed.

10/10, cleaning staff was very kind and thorough, when we had a maintenance problem, we got situated right away, very beautiful views, amazing food and more! We definitely recommend.

The hotel offers a beautiful and relaxing environment with friendly and attentive staff. The buffet had a great variety of dishes to suit every taste, and the Japanese restaurant with its live show was a memorable experience. The coffee shop was a perfect spot to unwind. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the reception team made check-in smooth and welcoming. What I disliked: We arrived right in the middle of summer when there were lots of algae on the beach, so we didn’t swim in the ocean. This wasn’t really the hotel’s fault — they did their best to clean it up, even running a tractor every day, but nature had other plans. Luckily, the pools were great, so we still enjoyed plenty of swimming time.

Went as a solo traveller in the off season. Resort staff was friendly. Food was good although not all restaurants are open every night but that’s understandable given how busy. Felt safe. Good mix of busy and loud spots and quiet areas. Would definitely go back! Brace yourself for not being able to swim in the ocean during the off season, which is far beyond the hotels control!
