beautiful hotel in a quiet university neighborhood. walkable to the train station & many great restaurants and shops (along with the hotel’s) in the area.
superb staff, wonderful breakfast buffet, and the additional amenities of a relaxation room (massage chairs with serene nature videos playing on the wall.) The zen garden is a must go to, daily if possible!)

Front desk staff was lack luster. We were about an hour early for the 3pm check in and they were text book about the 3pm rule. We mentioned that on occasion, if the room was ready, we were allowed to check in. Another staff chimed in about signing up for a basic member application using a QR code for early check in. Good grief, we’ve been traveling, tired and that’s the least thing I felt like doing.
After waiting and watching the staff figure things out, like magic, they allowed us to check in.
In the past, the front desk staff were very kind and sincere but recently attitudes have changed.
Although other staff greeting guests and staff in the Hanamiyabi lounge are very gracious.
