Dubrovnik-Neretva Cheap Holidays

My wife and I stayed for 4 nights recently and really enjoyed our stay at the Maistra Villas. It was close enough to Dubrovnik to get there by bus, taxi, or boat, while also being far enough outside the city to be quiet and peaceful. The staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful, answering any questions we had and addressing anything we needed right away. Our room was it's own independent unit, with a seperate bedroom and living area. It was clean and spacious, and they even left a welcome gift of wine and fruit, which was a lovely extra. All around it was wonderful. We highly recommend the Villas for anyone looking for a pleasant, relaxing stay away from the hustle and bustle of Dubrovnik while still being close enough to enjoy it.

Lovely room, classy hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Great breakfast. Easy frequent bus service to the Old Town. We stayed at the end of the low season - great value and quieter.

We really enjoyed our seven night stay at the Berkeley Hotel from the moment we arrived. On arrival we were greeted by Elma who booked us in and gave us a warm welcome before recommending somewhere to eat nearby as we had arrived quite late. The room was a very good size with a large clean bed, a small balcony with table and two chairs and a well laid out bathroom with walk in shower. We received two small complimentary bottles of wine on arrival and put them in the rooms good sized refrigerator. Breakfast at the hotel was excellent with a good choice of food including cereals, yoghurts, fruit, cheese, meat and bread as well as hot food including sausage, eggs and bacon. The breakfast staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, Lidija deserving special mention for remembering what drinks we liked and even what size cups/mugs we liked them in. The hotel is located around 40 minutes steady walk from the Old Town but is on the route of No.3 and No.8 local busses (a €2.50 ride each way) and was a short walk from a supermarket where you could buy snacks and alcoholic beverages for your room at good prices. On our last day we were not due to be picked up for the airport until 17:45 so the evening before Elma spoke to her manager (Maria I think) and organised for us to use the room for the full day, she really did go above and beyond. I would highly recommend The Berkeley Hotel for your visit to Dubrovnik, we found it met all our needs and more.

The hotel was amazing in terms of location, beach, swimming pools and the dining options. The only reason I would rate it low was due to facilities, such as they did not have iron and when asked it was against their policy to provided an iron. Furthermore, I called the reception multiple times to remind for the pillows and they failed to bring it over, when I went downstairs, I was told that the housekeeping was closed.

For a luxury hotel, there were a lot of issues. We had the towel rack come off the wall, our shower didn’t drain properly so kept flooding the toilet area, the area leading to the indoor pool was a construction zones etc. On the positive side, the location is beautiful, the staff are helpful, and the room was very comfortable.

The hotel’s location is lovely and very well situated. However, the property would benefit from some updates and attention to detail. In particular, the carpets appear dated and could be refreshed or replaced with alternative flooring. Additionally, a warmer and more welcoming approach from the breakfast staff would greatly enhance the guest experience.

Best hotel in Croatia. The family that operates it are very kind and professional, and the staff reflect this sentiment aswell. Sipan is a very special place. The island is lucky to have this little hotel perched along its cliffs. I will be back soon.
