Hawaii Island Cheap Holidays

The Grand Naniloa is located just outside the downtown Hilo area and close to the airport. The surrounding area is a mixed bag, some lovely gardens and trees, but then also adjacent to an abandoned hotel. The self parking lot, across the street from the property, is a poorly maintained gravel lot with potholes everywhere! The property is in desperate need of renovation and cleaning. It’s clear the hotel structure and the rooms aren’t well maintained. The room cleanliness was technically fine but not quality you’d hope or expect from a DoubleTree/Hilton property. Everything is showing wear and tear and the sinks and shower didnt really drain well. I wouldn’t not stay here again nor recommend it to others.

We really enjoyed our stay! The location was great — within easy walking distance to Kings’ Shops and Queens’ Marketplace, with plenty of options for breakfast, dinner, and shopping. The beach was beautiful, calm, and protected, which made it perfect for swimming. The pools were great as well. The staff was wonderful throughout our stay — everyone was kind, helpful, and welcoming. Overall, we loved everything about the hotel and would definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay. The room was very comfortable and clean. The ocean view with balcony was wonderful. There isn’t any walkable beach or ocean swimming at the resort, but the pool is good and It has good ocean views. Along side the pool are some barbecues and eating area. The kitchen was more then adequate and well supplied.
