(1,564 reviews) For the first 3 days, the initial room had a bad ceiling water leak that they attempted to fix twice with no luck. Finally we were moved to a different room that was also in need of update, but it was ok. Some of the staff members were nice, others were rude, and almost all of them highly inappropriate asking personal questions, and obviously, not trained to deal with diversity and inclusion. We are a 2 female couple and everyone asked if we were daughter and mom. We did not enjoy the food; most options were very greasy. The a la carte restaurant options were ok overall, but would not recommend the Asian one (very loud, servers are slow, food is horrible). The drinks were as bad as they can be and staff could use a better bartender training to differentiate between a margarita, mojito, or perhaps, any other drink. However, the area we enjoyed the most was Las Brisas bar. Although all the mix drinks taste bad, and the beer was not ice cold as we expected, the staff was amazing and welcoming. Unfortunately the hotel failed to meet our expectations for this very special milestone celebration (10 year marriage anniversary) and we are not sure if it is a placed that we would either visit again or recommend to friends or family. We understand that culturally our marriage might look different to the people of Jamaica, but the hotel could use the investment to train their personnel...i mean, come on people, it is 2026. (1,000 reviews) We just returned from a week at Azul and had the best time! Our room had a beautiful ocean view from the balcony and we loved to rest out there on the lounger pod. Whether you love the local flavors or are looking for something a bit more common like cheeseburgers, pizza and pasta, there’s always lots to enjoy. If we tried something and didn’t care for it, we tried something else and kept our vacation moving. 7 mile beach is the best beach we’ve found in all our travels and those sunsets bring us back time and time again! What really makes this place though is the staff. KerryAnn and Indera made the best drinks. Marion, Kerriann, Rita and so many others made us feel welcome and cared for at meals times. Cheryl provided one of the best massages I’ve ever had at the spa (this is my second visit to Azul and second massage with her - HIGHLY recommend). Jermaine, our concierge, checked in on us every day and was a wonderful host and guide. This was a return trip for us so we were excited to reconnect with so many amazing people, including the warm smile and kind heart of Roxanne. If you’re hesitant based on others feedback, I encourage you to give this place a try, we have grown to love the people of Jamaica and this resort will give you the feel of the heart of this great place.
