Great Half Term Break…

Cat is an excellent host, taking good care of us. House has well equipped kitchen. Beddings comfortable. Location is second to none, short walking distance to everything we want from Whitstable (eg: two nice bakeries, beach, oyster hut, high street, fish and chips, etc). The coffee machine is the pro version, and we were so glad to be able to use it many times during our stay. Overall the house is in excellent condition and we would definitely come back to stay if we visit Whitstable again. One little disappointment on the cleanliness overall, considering the significant cleaning fee charged per stay, food residues on carpet and wooden floor, bathroom and toilet not 100% clean. Given 4-star for cleanliness as Cat been helping to leave the house emptied for us for a few days before our arrival as my wife is in the shielding group and the peace of mind. She is super careful with this, and thus spent an hour on re-cleaning the house upon arrival including hoovering the whole house and deep clean the bathroom/toilet. Suppose we can't compare with the hotel cleanliness standard with holiday home. During the stay, the weather was mostly wet but we had one lucky sunny day so we rushed to get BBQ food from supermarket but when we were ready to cook, found the BBQ was dirty and mouldy. We ended up using the kitchen oven which wasn't a big problem. Cat was informed and very apologetic so hoping next holidaymaker would not be disappointed if BBQ is a big thing for you. On day of departure, Cat had kindly let us to check out a few hours late which was very helpful to sort the boys out for lunch first before the long drive home. It was a wise choice as we ended stuck on M20 for over four hours, sadly later learnt a lady from Herne Bay was killed in the car accident 50 meters ahead where we got stuck for four hours.…Cat is an excellent host, taking good care of us. Very comfortable, only complaint would be no mattress cover in main bedroom & stain on mattress…

The Cooks Cottage - an old rustic fisherman's cottage a minute from the beach

Really lovely place and staff, operating well at what must be a tricky time. Room well equipped and well kept. We travelled during bank holiday weekend and most places to eat in town were booked up, so ended up eating in the hotel a couple of times and that was v good - I don't really like that you need to order everything through an app but a few pubs/restaurants request that nowadays in the covid era... ah well.…Really lovely place and staff, operating well at what must be a tricky time.
