Jumeirah Jabal Omar Makkah
8/10 Good
"We stayed for half a day at Jumeirah Jabal Omar with my husband and teenage son. We arrived at 4:00 AM and the check‑in process was very smooth. The hotel consists of three towers, and we were placed in the West Tower. The atmosphere throughout the property is beautiful, with the signature Jumeirah scents in the lobby, calming bird sounds, and very welcoming staff. The décor is modern and luxurious. Our room was nicely designed and a good size. I especially loved the bathroom amenities, which were from Amouage—high‑quality products for both body and hair care. Breakfast was one of the most varied and impressive spreads I have ever seen. The staff at breakfast were exceptional: attentive, proactive, and very organized despite how busy the restaurant was. Unfortunately, we faced an issue with the late check‑out. I requested a late check‑out until 15:30 before 13:00, and was told they would call back. Instead, at 14:30 we were informed that we needed to leave immediately or incur extra charges. This was not professional and affected the overall experience. Overall, I would love to return because of the many positives, but I personally prefer staying in hotels closer to the Haram. The walk from this hotel is quite long."

Swissôtel Makkah
10/10 Excellent
"I had a very good stay at Swissôtel Makkah. I stayed for a solo trip, and overall it was a comfortable and enjoyable experience. The hotel is in a great location, and the breakfast was particularly good, with a good variety of options. I was also impressed with the lifts — even though the hotel was busy, they were surprisingly fast and I never had to wait too long. One thing that really stood out was the helpfulness of the concierge team. On Friday, with the Pakistani and Turkish Prime Ministers visiting and my flight from Jeddah at 4pm after Jumu’ah, I was concerned about the traffic and road restrictions and whether I would make it to the airport on time. The concierge reassured me that they would help arrange a local taxi and make sure I got to the airport on time. Thankfully, I already had my own taxi arranged, and the driver had the required permit to use the special routes, so we were able to get through the traffic and make it to Jeddah on time. I really appreciated the concierge taking the time to reassure me and offer their help. The only downsides were that the prayer room was quite far, and the view of the Haram from the prayer room wasn’t as impressive as the one I experienced at the Fairmont Makkah Clock Royal Tower. Overall, it was a very good experience. Great location, excellent breakfast, fast lifts and helpful staff. I would definitely consider staying at Swissôtel Makkah again."
