A small boutique hotel set in exotic mature gardens. Most rooms are in the garden and have covered terraces that lead to a rock pool which is great for swimming - I managed one length under water to be greeted by a monkey when I surfaced ! They have a young chef who trained in New York, so the standard of presentation and cuisine is excellent. There is a strong artistic and interior design lead influence which will appeal to like minded people.

Stayed all inclusive - food was varied every day and always a healthy choice! The basic garden view is still amazing - we had our own balcony, lounge and kitchen. All of the staff were super friendly, as were all locals in Barbados. The excursions and use of big hotel on beach made a difference too. We were there for a wedding which was amazing and the spa treatments we had was great - I really can't say a bad word about it!

We stayed at Le Roy Hotel as a last minute decision, having visited Barbados a few times we found this hotel previously Infinity on the beach.
We were welcomed by the reception staff who were friendly and efficient, organising our lovely sea view room.
The room and the rest of the hotel were immaculately clean, with beautiful gardens a credit to the gardener.
Our favourite part of the hotel was the bar and restaurant, the food was a really high standard and the cocktails did the trick!...

This was our first time staying in Barbados and at the hotel. We had a 1-bedroom Queen suite with ocean view. Very spacious, well equipped and fabulous view overlooking the pool and ocean. Plenty of sun beds available every day; parking for our vehicle; and some great restaurants all within a short walking distance. Staff were great and we would definitely return to The South Gap.

Visited the hotel in 2007 and 2008 and amazed that Reggie still remembered us after all that time when we returned in August this year!
Hotel was quiet (but so was the whole area including the Gap) and the one bedroom apartment was good although could do with a lick of paint.
The hotel is on the beach, which never had more than a dozen people on it ,and sunbeds, towels, umbrellas were easy - no getting up at dawn to reserve. Walking into the sea is like walking into a warm bath and nice and...

I was staying for just 1 night before flying home. I was made to feel extremely welcome by the hosts and their charming granddaughter. The apartment was clean, spacious and comfortable with all the facilities you'd need. I really liked the information board in the hallway so no questions went unanswered.

We had a great week in this hotel. It's small and friendly, staff were really helpful and there's a lot of regular guests and also long stay ones. The pool is clean and the water a perfect temperature, always plenty of sunbeds/chairs around the pool area. It's a short walk to the beach boardwalk with access to several beautiful beaches. The room was spacious, plenty of hot water and it was well equipped. The bed was large and comfy. May be an idea to take a small washing up liquid if you're...

Myself and my wife went to the Coral Mist Beach Hotel because IT was self catering and it had its own beach and we were NOT disappoint at all. Yes it was not modern and needs a revamped BUT everything else was spot on. Every day we sunbathed on the beautiful beach over looking the stunning Carribean sea and every night we watched baby turtles come out of the sand and we helped them to the sea and even watched a mother laying her 100+ eggs!! The staff were lovely especially the bar staff and Paul...

Harriet was waiting at the airport which was lovely
which we had arranged before hand and I kept in contact about flight delay.
She took us to there apartment and showed us around
which was great .
We had a lovely time just for 1 night as we were off to St Vincent the next day.
We have been to Barbados before and will go again at some point so will definitely stay here next time .

Outstanding hotel, full of history, perched above the ocean on the beautiful east coast. Everything is immaculate. Rooms are brilliant and food is excellent. Lovely coastal walk to charming Bathsheba.

As a family of four we had a lovely stay at divi south winds.
Right in the heart of the famous gap but spacious enough to feel a world away & still right by the beach.
Our first time but will not be our last. :-)

The best area to stay in West Terrace is the coastal stretch along the waterfront, particularly around the Fitts Village area.
This area is renowned for its beautiful beaches and access to the Caribbean Sea. You'll find a selection of high-top hotels here, often with direct beach access or stunning sea views. The main coastal road, Highway 1, runs through here, making it easy to get around, and there are several excellent restaurants and beach clubs dotted along the shoreline.
Couples looking for a romantic escape will find Fitts Village particularly appealing. The tranquil beaches are great for relaxing, and many of the establishments offer fine dining experiences with sunset views. The convenience of having everything within easy reach, from swimming spots to evening entertainment, makes for a stress-free holiday.
Families will also appreciate the Fitts Village area. The calm waters are ideal for children to swim and play, and many resorts cater to families with spacious accommodation and amenities.
When is the best time to go to West Terrace?
The best time to visit West Terrace, St. James, is during the dry season, which runs from December to May.
This period generally offers warm, sunny days with lower humidity and very little rainfall, making it ideal for enjoying the beaches and outdoor activities. You'll find consistently pleasant weather, great for relaxing by the sea or exploring the island.
For those looking for a quieter experience and potentially better value, the shoulder months of May and early June can also be lovely. The dry season is winding down, so you might encounter a few more showers, but the weather is still generally very good, and the island is less crowded.
Conversely, the wet season, from June to November, brings higher temperatures, increased humidity, and more frequent, though often short, rain showers.
