Reasonably priced with nice river view.

Posted 09-Sep-2016
Pros: Location, cleanliness, and quiet.
Cons: Nothing really. It's a very good motel.
Location: Convenient to both Hanover, which is about 5 minutes up the road, and West Lebanon, less than 10 minutes the other way.
This is the second time we have stayed here and it is a very nice motel for the price. It is clean, the rooms are older but well kept, there is a nice view of the Connecticut river out the back window and some chairs out back to sit on if you want to relax. The breakfast is basic but just what we needed and the area is very quiet. It's also perfectly located between Hanover (Dartmouth) and West Lebanon (Where the Wal Mart and Kohls and other stores are). Great if you're dropping off a new student at college. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

What a find!

Posted 04-Sep-2016
I needed a last-minute stay in order to be near the hospital. The Sunset was the cheapest option, but by no means "cheap". Friendly and helpful host. My room was great, with big windows looking right out on the water. Super quiet, nice and clean. Microwave and fridge with freezer - wished I had brought ice cream! In the morning there was breakfast - which I didn't eat - but it looked and smelled great. Cup of coffee, and I was on my way. I couldn't have been more pleased, and would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

Nice Moter Inn just South of Hanover

Posted 22-Aug-2016

Family has used this place for 2 decades

Posted 19-Aug-2016
The Sunset used to be cute, clean, and inexpensive. Now under newer ownership I was disappointed. There was hair on the bathroom counter and in the tub. The toilet seat was broken. There were spider webs hanging from the ceiling. There was a layer of dust everywhere, but especially on the room phone and clock(which wasn't even working). The staff were nice, but to get ice, I had to ask at the office, and she took an ice tray out of the freezer, cracked it, and may possibly have used her hand to fill my bucket. Overall, I'm not sure how the facility passed health inspection. I'm not a germaphobe, and I was grossed out.

For the final, total price,,I expected more

Posted 15-Aug-2016
Pros: not good value for the money
Cons: attitude,,,freindliness of owner/mgr,,,,get an ice machine
Location: Great area,,Hanover,,,Dartmouth Univ is awesome
Mgr kind of crabby,,,told me to not park in space #11,,,I was supposed to be in space #12,,,but there was only 1 other car in the entire lot,,,what the heck? No ice machine,,,and he acts like you're inconveniencing him to get you a bucket of ice. Old fashioned window AC unit,,,for close to $100,,,you'd expect more.

Sad and shabby

Posted 14-Aug-2016
Pros: Clean, fresh bedding. Great location. Close to Dartmouth. Nice complementary breakfast options. Free wifi. Refrigerator, microwave.
Cons: See above review. NEEDS MAJOR RENOVATION .
Location: SHORT DRIVE TO DARTMOUTH COLLEGE.
Nice location on a scenic River & close to Dartmouth. Needs major overhaul. Peeling paint, dirty doors and walls, junky furniture, including rusted lawn chairs and an abandoned shopping cart in the yard. The bedding was fresh and clean. Thin, scratchy towels that were coated with fabric softener - didn't absorb water. Dirty shower curtain & disgusting bath mat. Breakfast was OK, with several options. This is a great location with lots of potential for business, but the owners need to step up to the plate, spend some money & renovate. If I were Anthony from "Hotel Impossible" I would be screaming at these owners. DOES EXPEDIA EVER VISIT THE HOTELS THEY FEATURE? AAAKKK - they need to!!!!

A good deal for the area.

Posted 21-Jul-2016
I stay at this place two to three times a year & it's a good deal for the area. I used to notice many staff members from the hospital would be there too but they are gone . . . I wonder where they went. The other better alternative is the Baymont Inn in West Lebanon. But, this is fine.

Only if no other option.

I stayed here for a big event that filled all the other hotels in the area. It was worth about a third of what I paid. It's old, in need of upgrade, HVAC doesn't work well, bathroom is very outdated. Front desk guy couldn't be less friendly.
