This cabin is perfect for a couple or a small family or a girlfriends’ weekend. The cabin is 28 miles to Tweetsie Railroad, 25 miles to Appalachian State University, and 34 miles to the Grayson Highlands (please note all distances are approximate and travel times will vary). For some winter fun, head to one of our three most popular ski resorts: Appalachian Ski Mtn, Sugar Mtn, or Beech Mtn. The spacious master on main has a queen bed with a Temper-Pedic medium-firm mattress and high-end linens. The bathroom across the hall has a step-in shower, double sinks, and a \*whirlpool soaking tub. On the main floor there is a kitchen fully stocked with everything needed for the chef in the family to cook meals. Coffee lovers will appreciate having a drip coffee maker, a French press, or a Keurig to choose from. The kitchen opens up to the dining space and living room. There is also a propane gas grill on the deck for additional cooking options. The living room has a beautiful view of the mountains and a gas fireplace for heat and ambiance during the cold months. There is a flat screen TV in this room with basic cable and a ROKU stick for you to access your streaming accounts. Board games, puzzles, and books are available to keep the kids occupied if there is a rainy, stay-in-place kind of day. WiFi speed is at 100mbps for those that need to work or just wish to stream movies. The main deck, outfitted with plenty of rocking chairs, is the perfect place to enjoy coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at night while watching the sunrise or sunset. You may have sightings of deer or wild turkeys and quail. Two additional bedrooms are upstairs, as well as a shared bathroom. One room has a queen bed and the most beautiful view of the valley below and the mountain range beyond it. The second bedroom has two twin beds, perfect for children. The lower level includes a media room with a large flat-screen tv and surround sound. This TV also has a ROKU stick, but the cabin is stocked with many DVDs from which to choose as well. The 2nd side of the basement has been recently finished out to include more heated square footage and seating space. It has a foosball table and a half bath. If you need to do laundry while staying, there is a washer and dryer located on this floor as well. The cabin is decorated with artwork by local artists, and seasonal décor changes throughout the year. You will find it stocked with a starter supply of toilet paper, detergents, toiletries, and coffee pods. An Ingles grocery store is located only five minutes away for groceries. Come and relax at Absolute High. You will be glad you did! \*Please note that there is a whirlpool bathtub but no hot tub. Note: Pets allowed with a $75 per stay per pet. This was our 1st time booking a vacation rental through Vrbo. The cabin was very clean and spacious. There is a game room and a media room downstairs. There is nice view of the mountains from the back deck. We cooked out on the grill! The location is perfect. It's just a short drive into town and also close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The house is located at the top of the mountain and there are gorgeous views from the top of the driveway to the mountains on one side and another expansive, gorgeous view of the mountains and valley stretching out behind the house from the back windows and porches. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay was excellent! The views were everything to have coffee in the morning and cocktails at night. We saw deer below the deck almost every day. There was a Gray Hawk that flew by several times. We put up a humming bird and had hummers in 15 minutes. It was also a treat to see the US Air Force F-16s fly by below the mountains. We are planning our next visit. ##### John T. Reviewer Comments: This was our first stay at Absolute High, but hopefully not our last. We loved the location and the cabin was well stocked and very nicely decorated. They had put out fall decorations which made it feel so homey. The view from the decks are incredible. The neighborhood is full of deer and we enjoyed seeing them on morning walks with our dog. We had an issue logging in on the TV, but the management company was quick to respond and resolve the issue. Beautiful home! Beautiful view! Very satisfied with that but the house was not clean. There were dead huge flies all over the floor in the living room. There was black animal hair in the tub down stairs. The bedroom upstairs with queen bed had large flies flying around window. At one time I counted 20\. Biggest flies I ever saw. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I rented this home on a whim to just get away and rest. This home provided just want we needed to relax. Unfortunately the weather spoiled our ability to sit on the deck and enjoy the lovely view in the comfy rockers.The gas fireplace was great. Home was very convenient to downtown West Jefferson. We went midweek and found many of the stores and downtown restaurants were closed for various reasons. I believe winter and mid week is a time for renovation and closures for many.But we were fine to cook at the house. But if shopping or eating out is a priority for the renter I would suggest going on the weekend. ##### Margie L. This Cabin is within minutes of Downtown West Jefferson to a Variety of Wonderful Shopping and Restaurants. The kitchen was well furnished, but a little cozy for larger groups. Full disclosure, we were there for Thanksgiving and there were 4 Master Chefs (in our own minds) trying to prepare the dinner at the same time (LOL). Anyway... we had a wonderful time, the cabin was lovely, everything in the cabin worked and we had a wonderful time.
