"We stayed for one night in a Deluxe Double Room as two adults and two children. The room included a sofa bed, which worked well for our family. We booked the half-board package, which is worth noting only applies to adults. Children’s evening meals are charged separately, although they can eat breakfast free of charge.
The highlights were definitely the staff, who were all friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our visit. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained, making for a lovely setting. The pool was clean and enjoyable, the bed was very comfortable, and the restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was particularly impressive, with a great choice and everything we tried was fresh and delicious.
There were a few downsides though. Housekeeping knocked on our door three separate times before the advertised check-out time, which made us feel like we were being rushed out of the room. Parking at £12 for one night also felt overpriced. Finally, the hotel photos are a little misleading, as the bedrooms are actually located in a separate, newer building next to the main house rather than in the historic building pictured, which wasn’t what we were expecting. The layout of the accommodation was also quite confusing and not particularly easy to navigate.
Overall, it’s a lovely hotel with great facilities and excellent staff. With a few small improvements, it would be an even better experience."
