Great House in Quaint town
Wellsboro, PA near the PA Grand Canyon is a great spot for outdoor activities as well as good shops, restaurants... I highly recommend checking out the area. This house is one of the original houses built shortly after the town's founding. Great house in great location on the Main Street.

Spring Get-away in Wellsboro
The house was very clean, the historic aspect made it very charming and fun. Kitchen was modern and had everything we needed. Loved the enclosed porch, back deck and yard, perfect for our 3 year old grandson. Location was perfect, far enough from the main traffic but close enough to walk back and forth to town several times a day as desired. We would definitely return to this house.

Loved having a driveway to park off street and take a hairy walk to downtown Wellsboro. Short drive to Ski Sawmill which was great for our winter weekend! Quick, helpful communication from our host when I forgot some key items for our stay. We would definitely stay in this home again!

Comfortable and Warm Victorian
I planned a sister’s vacation and choose this home primarily for the location. A short stroll along Main Street to shops and restaurants. The house was beautiful and comfortably furnished. The kitchen was well equipped for preparing meals and no complaints about the beds. Would definitely return to this gem in Wellsboro. Thank you for sharing your home.

One of our favorites
We have stayed at quite a few B&Bs and this is definitely one of our favorites! The spacious house has “old house charm” with all the modern conveniences (Internet, TV and appliances all worked great). I loved the simple and tasteful decor, especially the beautiful mural in the foyer of winter in Wellsboro. The kitchen was very well stocked. The living room and bedrooms were cozy and comfortable. Although you are on a (sometimes) busy road, the back deck is quiet and peaceful. And it’s a lovely stroll to downtown. The owner responded quickly to questions and was very helpful. We hope to be back soon!

Very Nice Historic House in Town
We stayed for a few days in October and really enjoyed the ambiance of this historic house. The location was great as we could walk to everything in town. The four bedrooms are very roomy and there's a rather large dining room. It was warm and we felt very "at home". We look forward to staying again next summer when we can enjoy the back deck. The owner was very responsive to my texts.

Great location! House was clean and comfortable for 7. Only negative comment was from the folks who stayed on the second floor. One of the bedrooms is not very private and the tall folks had to to shower on the first floor. Otherwise a perfect weekend.

Anniversary celebration
Friends got together to help us celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. Since we live in three different cities, we were looking for a location that would allow us to be together. This house was perfect for us. We loved sitting on the deck watching the Persied meteor shower while listening to the babbling creek running through the property. One afternoon we were visited by a blue heron in the creek. We will definitely go to this location again.

Wonderful Wellsboro HQ
We loved our stay in this lovely, historic home. Has a great historic feel but also the creature comforts of modern life. We were able to relax, have great group conversations, A/Cs worked well, and close to all amenities of the town. It's a little bit of a walk for anyone mobility impaired but just 3-4 blocks to the center of town and parking for at least 3 vehicles in the driveway, though only one vehicle can get in/out at a time.

This house is ideally located. It's a 20 minute ride to some fantastic hiking trails. It's right on the main street, so you can walk to shopping and dinner. The owner, Marlene, is beyond responsive. Highly recommend this house in this location.

Attractive In-Town Location
We truly enjoyed being able to easily walk to shops and restaurants in the attractive town of Wellsboro. The stream behind the house and overlooking deck was a nice bonus, and there was ample space for our friends. There were minimal amenities; we had to bring our own sheets and towels and run out to buy a bar of soap. However, in fairness the property did have a lower cleaning fee so you just need to be prepared. While not clear in the photos there were a number of framed Christian religious verses and books that might make visitors uncomfortable depending on their beliefs. Overall we had a lovely stay.

Thank you for your review. We love to hear our guests perspective and take their recommendations under consideration. We have made changes as a result of some of the reviews that we have received. The VRBO website and the additional information that I send out does make it clear that sheets and towels are not provided which I do believe is fairly common. So come prepared, just like you said. We are Christians and we try to reflect that in our lives and in our homes. We certainly do not want to offend anyone and feel like the decor is tastefully done. Thanks again for your input.

This is the third time we have rented the Last Lantern Guest House and it has always been exactly what we needed for our time in Wellsboro visiting with family. Even with different owners than our previous stays it is the same clean and top notch place to stay.

Location, location, location!
This quaint home right on Main St. Wellsboro had everything you need for a family or friends getaway. Located near the Grand Canyon of PA, and Pine Creek Trail so great for hiking, biking, fishing! Beautiful outdoor space and fully stocked kitchen. Lots of room to relax, play cards, games! Loved it!

Generally nice, and a great location
All in all, it was a very nice stay. We did, however, find that the back door lock was very difficult to open. A new lock may be in order. A shower caddy would be a nice addition, as there is no place to put a bar of soap or a shampoo bottle. The pillows could use replacing. Most of them are flat and offer no support. The steps in and out of the rooms were a bit daunting, and in fact, I fell one night while returning from dining room to foyer. The kitchen had everything we needed.

Thank you for your ideas. We consider all our guests ideas and are happy to make the changes that we can. I am sure the next time you visit the Last Lantern Guest House there will be a shower caddy in each of the bathrooms and a few thicker pillows in some of the bedrooms.

Gorgeous property
The house was built in 1860 and is so so gorgeous. It fits into the Wellsboro scene well and is in walking distance to most everything and only a few minute drive from anything else. Parking was no problem at all and the area is quiet. YOU NEED TO BRING YOUR OWN TOWELS AND SHEETS. This is written in the listing but easily overlooked. Other than that, obsessed with this property. 10/10 would stay again.
