Great Location

Posted 21-Apr-2016
The hotel is quite nice and within walking distance to everything. The room was comfortable and the staff excellent. The pillows smelled old though which made the room seem not quite as clean as it could be. The staff was responsive and quick to help with any issues we had. I would recommend this hotel as very good value for the price.

Great room size for family of 5. Comfortable beds. Nice indoor heated pool which kids enjoyed. Included toaster & microwave which helped for breakfast. Fantastic location in downtown Victoria.

Very small room with no storage

Posted 13-Apr-2016
Cons: Get a window in the pool and workout area.
Location: close to everything
This room is very small with only two drawers for guests to put their clothes, very small closet, and the bathroom is so tiny that only one person can get ready at a time. I will not stay there again as it is just too small. Pool and workout area has no ventilation - very hot and fumes of chlorine so it is not enjoyable.

Pros: Close to Downtown for my meeting. close to the Park and Restaurants in the area which i did not use.
Cons: Parking...was awful...as i wrote in the above review.
Check in was easy, Staff at desk very friendly. Used Room service for late quick meal and they were very fast in delivering the Tray. PARKING...this is an impossible place to find a spot to park in their parking areas. When I arrived at 430 to check in it was mentioned to me that Level 1 was probably Fuylly so try Level 2. I did and it was completely Full..the problem is to get out of those tight areas with no way to Exit..you have to back all the way out to get to the Exit. I left and drove around for an hour then came back and again nothing no parking. So I waited parked in Registration spot until i saw a car leave.. When i mentioned that upon check out the Desk Staff said oh we have 4 lots but outside...and we have Valet Service???that was never mentioned to me when i checked and asked about parking. I would not have wanted outside Parking because of my vehicle. There was a rotten garbage smell coming into my room from open windows later in the early evening...closed windows. when I drove around later that evening noticed a homeless shelter tent area set up on Burdet that had that same smell. I think it was wafting down the hill against the Hotel windows where i was staying on the 3rd floor.

Nice hotel great location

Posted 25-Mar-2016
My husband and I and our 1 year old stayed for 2 nights to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. We had a one bedroom suite(great price). Lovely sitting area and full kitchen. It was very spacious and we were able to set up her crib in the bedroom allowing for a nice evening once she was asleep. The location was awesome close to everything! Will be returning for sure!

Cozy hotel close to Victoria's Inner Harbor

Posted 23-Mar-2016
Pros: I like the location, ease of checking in and out, friendly staff, small size, comfort of beds and bed linens, excellent views from every room.
Cons: A greater variety of tea and decaf coffee available in rooms, magnifying mirror in bathroom
Location: Close to Inner Harbour, Empress Hotel, BC Capital building, museums, excellent restaurants, shopping, Chinatown, great walking town, don't need a car.
This was my 4th stay at the Chateau Vic - I love staying here because the hotel is cozy, has friendly staff, and most of all is very conveniently located only a couple blocks from Victoria's beautiful Inner Harbor, excellent restaurants, shopping, the Empress Hotel, etc. Twice I received a free upgrade to a suite, but all the room configurations are great and include a kitchenette. The beds and bed linens are heavenly. Hotel staff is responsive to comments and suggestions - I will definitely stay here again. Be aware that there is a loyalty awards program you can participate in when you book directly through the hotel - stay 10 nights receive 1 night free.
