Checking in was quite difficult, but otherwise the rooms were better than described. The location is excellent as well, with multiple shops, bars and restaurants just below. Bed was the most comfortable we had on our entire trip! Shower was good, water pressure was similar to other hotels we had been in in Italy.
The residence was quiet and affordable and the host, Raffaella, was very friendly and helpful. We recommend La Dogaressa to anyone looking for a stay in Venice.
Great value and in a great location. Helpful staff when needed to book a late check in. Clean room, firm bed. Air-conditioning was really appreciated. Shared bathroom kept clean. Steps from Rialto and waterbus. Traghetto to get across the Grand Canal steps away too.
The location was great for what we were looking for-a quick walk to many restaurants, shopping, tours, and landmarks. Be aware that check-in is limited hours and there are many stairs to climb with no elevator for luggage. The room is basic, but we were happy with our accommodations.

Very clean, quiet, great location! Highly recomend this place!
The location was great. The lady that checked us in gave us great restaurants that were run by long time Italians so we got the true experience. Pub next door with locals was a great place to meet people and learn more about Venice.
Conveniently located to several great restaurants and bars, especially Trattoria 900 with beautiful furnishings, great beer and background jazz.
Communication with Raffealla was especially easy.
Large, comfortable with nice shared bathroom.
Definitely will stay again.
This guest house is very centric and you can reach many tourist and historic areas from there. Piero gave us good advises for our 2 days trip at Venice and we had a lovely time.
A hidden guest house in the historic centre of Venice. Quiet and peaceful despite being located 2+ floors above a busy street of bars and shops. Welcoming host who explained house rules clearly and was available in an emergency. Fridge and coffee maker were especially welcome, as was the air conditioning. There is a good convenience store nearby. Overall, a valuable mid-point between a budget hotel and an independent apartment rental. Closing the door onto the street and walking through the shade of the building's courtyard really felt like living in Venice. Some rooms have bathrooms shared between two bedrooms (ideal for families travelling together); my 'superior room' was ensuite, which as a solo traveller I welcomed.

Disliked: Amenities
Skeleton keys noisy in middle of night when going to bathroom, you can hear people talking in other rooms, lumpy beds... but clean and well kept. Great location for tours , gondolas , shopping and restaurants...

The hotel is on the third floor, no elevator, 51 steps up. Its a little noisy in the mornings and evening with loud closing doors and people talking. If you need more towels than they give you have to pay for them. The owner is nice. He gave us several tips on where to eat and shop.
The room was clean, but pretty basic. The bed did not have a frame, so it was very low and harder for an older person to get up and out of. The property is also up about 60 stairs with no elevator. Information at check in was very good. Location was also good. We had a shared bath with a modern, but very small shower.

Check in was easy, but there is no receptionist, so communication may be difficult at times for arrival, but we had no issues. At check out our contact for the hotel was rude, when we were asking about the hotel policies for check-out. Overall the location was good, for overall places to eat and see. We arrived by train and were able to take a water taxi to the dock where the hotel was located and it was a 3 minute walk to the hotel.
Fine for a couple of nights - quiet, clean, decent location. Bedroom (air conditioned) was across the hall from bathroom and living room (not air conditioned), which was a little odd. It was really hot, so there wasn’t much use of the living room. Lots of stairs and a little tough to find and get in.
Property is in a convenient area and was rather quiet at night which was great. The bathroom is shared between two rooms and did not appear to be cleaned at all during my 3 night stay. Managers did not offer any help with transportation or offer any information about surrounding areas.
I stayed here on June 17th to 21st.
Hospitality: 5/5. Piero was very welcoming and gave me tips on where to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner which helped a lot! Rafaella was kind enough to wish me a happy birthday. Two very lovely people!
Location: 5/5. It is a 5 min walk from Rialto Bridge and the markets, 15 min walk from Doge’s Palace. Very convenient.
Cleanliness: 5/5. The room was very clean, big comfy bed with nice white sheets and 6 pillows! It had an A/C unit too which was great.
Overall I highly recommend this place! Thank you again! 5/5!!
The room was very big, had a mini fridge and coffee maker. The bathroom was also large. We were to have a shared washroom, but the other room was empty so we lucked out with it all to ourselves. There were stairs to get up to the room, but it was wide and had a few landings, not just a big straight up flight. Venice has many little staircases everywhere, so visitors should get used to it, or pack lighter. Google Maps gave good directions right to the building. We just walked from the train station with our little suitcases instead of bothering with a water transport. It was a very nice stay.
