The hotel decor was dated and there was no elevator. Parking was available but very difficult to access. Limited restaurants nearby. Convenient for access to train to Venice.

Great all around Hotel A+
Price is right, location is about 10 minute walk from train station. Area is quiet and safe. Breakfast is great at 6 or 7 Euros (I can't remember which). Hotel is a little older with no elevator but they keep it very clean. What sets this hotel apart is the friendly staff. They are willing to help in anyway possible. They speak great English too. They accomidated us on a few travel issues we had that they didn't have to. They just said, "we understand these things happen when you travel and if we can help, we will". I would stay here again without a second thought!

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The train station to Venice was conveniently close and there were a few dining options in the area. Our room was clean when we first arrived. The only con were the beds - they were a bit too stiff. However, the staff provided excellent service. Overall, a great experience!

A very old, shabby hotel. Most of the employees were very sweet which is why I am rating this stay as high as I am. I do not understand how the average score is >8. This place was very depressing.

Staying here was worth it.
Staff are warm and welcoming. Parking was easy and walk to train and bus station very convenient. Rooms are basic and so is the breakfast. No protein, so be aware. Also no lift (elevator). Value for price was very good. Stayed five days. Was worth it.

The place was clean and in a good location to transportation. Staff was excellent and breakfast was good. Would recommend this place to travellers to Venice. Understanding that it is not a 5 star hotel.

The place was very clean and the bed was comfortable...at least, so far as I know. I slept really well, anyway. Staff were friendly. Air conditioning worked great.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the accommodations were clean and well kept, and had all the facilities we needed. We had the continental breakfast while we were there which was lovely.

Basic place. Was comfortable and clean enough for us with being out all day and just needing somewhere to sleep. Friendly helpful staff. Close to the train station and plenty of places to eat. Make sure you ask for a room that isn’t near the lobby, it was very noisy with people coming and going on our first night and thankfully we got to move rooms for our second night.

Okay location, crappy hotel
Our room was stifling hot when we arrived. So we turned on the AC to cool it down. When we came back a few hours later, the staff had gone in without our knowledge or permission and turned off the A/C. We had no idea. So we told them the A/C was not working and asked to switch rooms. They were rude and after a few conversations they told finally admitted that they had broken in to our room to turn off the A/C. We were deeply concerned about valuables being stolen. Plus it took almost 3 hours for our room to cool down. Our expectations of a "value" hotel were low. But not this low!

Dear Mr. Rob, If you had booked a suite in a 4-star hotel, you could have kept the air-conditioning on even when you were not in the room and in any case it did not take 3 hours but only 10 minutes to cool the room. However, from your comment we infer that you are used to hotels of higher category but I assure you that security is not the subject of discussion in our hotel. Best regards Staff H. Montepiana

Very basic hotel, like a hostel with private bathr
Even though we had no problems during our short stay, the hotel is very basic and expensive for what you get, considering that it's already far from venice to chiarge more than 100 euro per night. The value-for-money is not worth it. I expected more

Good value..it worked out well
Good location for the commute into Venice . Quite, pleasant neighborhood with a great small town feel and comfortable. Staff was very helpful, friendly, and nice...could not have been more professional and gracious. Very good experience, would book there again without hesitation.

Acceptable hotel close to train station
He had an adequate stay. Breakfast was simple but good. The location is great since it's only a couple of blocks to the train station. It took us only a short time to get into Venice.

close to train station. owners try their best to give you good service. breakfast has cereal, bread, croissant, juice. coffee is bad though because its from a nescafe machine that tastes bad. tea was fine. hotel is ok to find if. 5mins walk from trains.

Short stop in Venice on the way to ski in Dolomite
We made a stop in Venice for two days on the way to ski in Alta Badia (Colfosco). Hotel was very good for money paid. It took us ~10 min by taxi to get hotel from Marco Polo airport. We used Mestre railway station in 5 min on foot to reach Venice island (extra 15 min by trains passing every 10 min). Finally we escaped to Alta Badia from intercity bus station in 10 min on foot. Nevertheless the hotel area had no railway station influence and was calm and safe. And Venice was great in sunny February days with all its views, museums and other attractions.

Brilliant
Excellent service, they really look after you. The room was excellent and a superb breakfast. Just outside Venice but excellent public transport. Buy a day travelcard that covers all public transport including the vaporetto which you need to use to get around.

Nice, clean hotel and friendly staff
We stayed 2 nights in this hotel. Staff is really friendly, hotel is very clean and happy with the breakfast. The only thing is shower is bit small, if you are slightly overweight then you won't fit. Otherwise I don't see any other issue in this hotel. Would definitely stay here again next time when I visit Venice.

A gem, and great dollar value besides!
Room was clean, bright, and well prepared. Staff was very polite, helpful and service excellent. Breakfast was typical continental, but nice quality. Location a short walk to bus / train to Venice. I would not hesitate to recommend.

A great Mestre option VERY close to train station
A great, simple, clean option for visiting Venice while not actually staying in Venice (which can be quite a headache with navigating the canals). Just a 5 minute walk from Mestre station, and then a very simple train or bus (10minutes) to Venice proper. Staff was difficult to communicate with in English, but they do their best. Breakfast is superb. Definitely recommend!

Convenient location
We are satisfied with the stay in the hotel. The location is convenient, 5 minutes to bus stop and 10 minutes to train station. We took the bus or train to Venice. Room is clean and have TV and wardrobe. However, the corridor is dark and does not look pleasant. Staff are friendly. Breakfast is continental style. We are served with orange juice, bread and coffee. The only drawback is no elevator. We have to carry our luggages to 3rd floor.

If you are looking for a decent price instead of staying in Venice, this is great. It's only a 5 minute walk to the train station and then a 10 min train ride to Venice. Very simple hotel. Our room smelled like someone smoked in it before. Our friends who were on a different floor did not have the smell. The hosts are very friendly and provide helpful info. It was an OK hotel that fulfilled our needs in finding a cheaper alternative for Venice.

We stayed for 1 night in this great hotel. The one thing that impressed us was the owner/staff. We were welcomed warmly, offered a map and lots of advice and lots of smile. The room itself is clean, comfortable and adequate for the price. The location is great, bus #2 just 2-5 mins walk which brings you to Venice in 10 mins, about 10mins walk to train station (which is where the airport bus stop is located). The breakfast is simple (some buns, croissants and jams) but it was 5* table service by the owner/staff. Overall we are glad to have chosen this hotel as it is convenient, good value and friendly. Don’t worry about staying in Maestre- we find that the 10 mins bus ride to Venice is not a problem and bus #2 runs every 15 mins
