We loved this hotel! Dorsoduro is a much nicer area than San Marco and much less crowded. The hotel restaurant sits on the Guidecca Canal and is great spot for dinner. Samuel and the entire staff made our stay so enjoyable. We will stay here again; no doubt about it.

The employees were wonderful. We stayed on the 4th floor. No elevator but ok for us. No air conditioning in our room but the weather was beautiful. We slept great.

Super nice hotel! Clean! Classic! Romantic! Near everything! Conveniently located near the Vaporetto: Take a boat to go from and to the station, amazing views! They scheduled a boat for my last minute plan very helpful! We will always book this hotel in Venice from now on. Hidden Gem! Congratulations to the best hotel team!

La Calcina is the perfect place to stay in Venice. The location is perfect, you can walk to the main places of interest. Everywhere else is accessible from the water bus stop nearby. Our room was amazing, with fabulous views. The only negative was the variable temperature of the shower. Samuel, Lorella and all the staff at the front desk were helpful and friendly. All the waiting staff were also very friendly and welcoming.

One of the very best hotels my wife and I have stayed in. A magical and sumptuous hotel. Staff superb and made us feel extremely welcome. Situated right by the side of Guidecca canal, our room had a multi aspect view of the canal. Water bus stop Zattere just a few metres from the hotel meant that using a water bus or water taxi from the airport could not have been simpler. The city water bus service line 2 runs from the same stop with a very frequent service right down the Grand Canal, under the Rialto Bridge and on to the Piazza San Marco, Campanile and the Doges Palace. Impossible to over rate this hotel.

La Calcina hotel was perfect for our needs. Quiet, boutiquey hotel away from the bustling area of San Marco, but very conveniently located! Easy walking to all the sights and restaurants. Waterbus station right there. Food was very good. We will definitely stay here again!

We have been going to La Calcina for years and have enjoyed each stay. The property has excellent location with fantastic views of the Guidecca canal. It is located in a relatively quiet area of Venice and yet has easy access to all the main sites. The staff is very friendly and the rooms have a lot of the old world charm.

Best little gem in Venice, great views, friendly!

We absolutely loved this little gem, just off the beaten path in Venice but still on a canal with spectacular views. A short walk brings you to the thick of things in central Venice, where hotels like this would fetch three times the price. The staff was so welcoming, we didn't want to leave!

Quiet Venice is the way to go.

Lovely property on the quiet side of town. Easily accessible. Excellent service from an attentive staff. Restaurant is quite good. Only comment is get better Pillows.
