Great location close to major points of interest
This was a great little hotel (when I last stayed in 2008) Sadly, despite all of the staff being superb and the cleaning staff excelling themselves on room service, the hotel seems to showing signs of age!
Whilst our room was good, it was in need of refurbishment. Paint peeling off the walls, especially in the bathroom and carpet in a desperate need of a major clean. Only 6 coat hangers for all of your clothes? (although to be fair, they did supply a further 6 assorted coat hangers) and general décor in need of some TLC.
The continental breakfast offering was adequate but not inspiring, a toaster would not go amiss and I could just not get my head around all tea & coffee servings delivered with no lids on any of the coffee / tea pots?
The item I noticed the most, was the array of cheap plastic flowers everywhere. If you cant afford to purchase real flowers, please, don't bother! You are a meant to be a 4*, hotel not 3*.
It seems sadly, that this hotel, despite being once a quality 4* establishment is following the Venetian philosophy of "Make as much money as you can, without spending too much"
When I stayed last in 2008, this was a great little hotel, nice rooms, real flowers around the hotel and what seemed to be more staff? A number of times when we requested a drink from the bar, the person on reception had to double up and serve you a drink. Feel very sorry for the staff, who do a great multitasking job for the owners!
