Great Cabin in the Smoke Hole area
We enjoyed a two night stay in the cozy cabin. The cabin was very clean and had everything that we needed for our stay. The layout is very nice and decorations complete the cozy feel. The cabin is located very near the river and we took advantage to spend some time fly fishing during our stay. I would recommend this location as a quiet couples retreat. A very nice property.

Amazing weekend
This cabin is awesome! It’s perfectly situated with amazing mountain and river views and very private, separated from neighbors with trees all around. The scenery is spectacular. The house is beautifully decorated, cozy, and comfy. It has been perfect for us two. Bedroom, bathroom, living area…everything is so nice. We had a wonderful time during our stay and hope to stay here again! Thank you!

Great Location
My wife and I wanted to et away for the weekend and decided on this cabin. The cabin is fantastic and the location is great if you like to explore through the mountains or fish. We had a wonderful time just driving my truck throughout the area.

Very comfortable and well-equipped; beautiful nature
This cabin is very sweet and comfortable. It is nicely furnished and well-equipped. The kitchen has plenty of cookware, utensils, dishes, and cleaning supplies -- very helpful given scarcity of good restaurants in the area. About the river access: a reviewer complained it is more difficult than advertised. The cabin does not open out onto the river; you have to walk a bit. However, the river and pretty gazebo are easy to reach if you have no mobility challenges. If you can walk about a tenth of a mile downhill on a trail and back up, you will have no problem. The gazebo at the riverbank is a very relaxing place to sit. We saw a bald eagle on two evenings, as well as a kingfisher and other birds. There is another house on the property with a shared driveway, but no one came to it while we were there. While staying at this cabin we visited Seneca Rocks (about 40 minutes away) and Spruce Knob (highest point in WV), as well as the Cass Scenic Railway (about 90 minutes away). We left by driving through Smokehole Canyon (with a worthwhile detour to the end of Smokehole Road) and down to Cabins. A beautiful few days; would be happy to stay again.

Sweet Get Away
Cabin was good for our few days in the WVA Mountain beauty. Have gone through a very stressful time and the peace and quiet was on target. Didn't realize there is a house right next door, however, no one was there while we were visiting. Appreciate the path to the river and the gazebo at the river. We did feel how much we are "flatlanders", though, walking up and down the hill. Enjoyed the area fossil hunting and playing in the river.

Lovely Cabin in Smoke Hole, WV
We had a great stay at the Smoke Hole cabin. It was a cute, nicely themed decorations, and cozy new cabin with all the amenities and perfect for the two of us. The bearskin was a nice touch! The Potomac River was a short hike away and we enjoyed listening to the water. I'm sure that we will come back again.

Fantastic Forest Getaway
This property was the perfect getaway for a quiet weekend. We took advantage of the river access - the small wooden shelter near the bank is great, though the path down is a bit steeper than we thought. We loved all the bear-themed decor, and used several soft blankets that were easily available. We cooked everyday, using the ample utensils and pantry essentials, and also took advantage of the nearby cidery (so good!). Such a great trip!

Not friendly river access
Cabin was great, river access was hell uphill climb, so bad I I didn’t try 4 th day. The owners arrived on our last day and decided to have several guest over, problem is they left after 11 p.m.,and the drive is beside the bedroom. I’m a host for my coastal property and would have never awakened my well paid guest up to have a party, with guest leaving as we had a long drive early the next morning. I’m sensitive to reviews and just wanted to let others know, at 61, I could not do the river access trail one more time. The owners-live 300ft or less from the cabin, so don’t expect privacy, and reviews say they often drop by, hello. Did not meet my expectations and would not book again, sorry.

Had a little trouble finding the place but once we did it was well worth the trip. Our navigation system took us down route 55 from Petersburg, so we got to experience the whole length of Smoke Hole Rd! Quite the drive for sure. The cabin is absolutely beautiful, very clean and well stocked. My husband loved the wilderness decor. The walk to the river is definitely worth it. Lovely scenery. My husband caught his biggest smallmouth bass ever! Overall a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back!!

Cute Cabin- Very Enjoyable
The cabin was wonderful itself, no complaints. We did have some issues getting to it though. The GPS took us to the same address but with Petersburg as the city instead of Upper Tract (my mistake), so we were about 40 minutes in the wrong direction on the opposite end of the road. There was no cell service out there which contributed to the confusion. I definitely recommend downloading maps, door code, and other info prior to leaving home. We drove into town to get enough bars to call the property manager. The man who answered was helpful giving directions, but he was not the property manager. Anyway, after all that confusion, we found the property and it was lovely. There is a grocery store about 25 min away as well as a Walgreens in Petersburg. We also went hiking in Seneca Rocks and checked out the smoke hole caverns. It was overall a nice stay!

It was the cleanest cabin where we have stayed. VRBO website was down when we were on our way there, again. The cabin is very close to the road. Some traffic was loud and annoying. I would not call this a secluded site. However, the river views and Smoke Hole Canyon were beautiful. All that said, it was really nice to come to a place and not have to clean before we unpack.

Nice getaway for two
Clean comfortable getaway for those seeking close proximity to nature. This is a charming rental with almost everything you need for some downtime. Bring your favorite coffee, clothing, food, toothbrush, body wash, and shampoo. A Keurig and a regular coffee pot are provided. Don't forget your hair dryer if it is a must. The short jaunt down to riverside is on a slope and isn't bad for healthy adults and children but might not be for those with bad knees, etc. This would be nice for those wanting a fishing trip. Be sure to check with the owners as locations further down this stretch of river warn of catch and release only. Owner responds quickly to messages and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
