Not as nice as the last best western I stayed at

Posted 27-Nov-2016
I recently stayed at a best western in Olathe, KS that was much nicer than this one. I researched reviews and prices of hotels in Tulsa prior to making a reservation. I'd have to say this hotel did not quite live up to the high ratings it had received. The carpet in the hall was old and loose. Elevator smelled of cigarettes. The walls were not well insulated as we could hear the neighbors quite loudly as their kids played next door. Our room was on the second floor. Construction was taking place on most, if not all, of the third floor. There was hammering, drilling, and sawing directly above our room until about 830pm and started again just prior to 8am. So sleeping in wasn't really an option. That following morning I went to check out the extreme hammering on the third floor and there were several construction workers and equipment everywhere. Another thing to point out is that my room front door had a dead bolt that worked, but the little bar that allows the door to only open a few inches had been broken off and was missing. There was an adjoining door to the neighbors room and the deadbolt to it did not properly line up, I tried maneuvering the door while trying to lock the deadbolt but it was too far off center to lock. So the first night we had scooted the night stand in front of the door. Anyways, on a positive note, I spoke with the front desk lady the morning after our first night there and she quickly switched us to 1st floor which was much quieter/pleasant.

Not worth it

Posted 08-Nov-2016
We saved a little money by going through Expedia but even at the lower price, I wouldn't stay again. The room was highly outdated, cheap plastic furniture, torn up carpets, and a busted ac, and in busted I don't mean it didn't work, I mean it was obvious that either the filter had never been replaced or the unit was just that old. It made the entire room wet. Not humid. Wet. As in the sheets and bedding for noticeably damp every night, it was almost hard to breathe with the damp mildew air. Plus, they were doing what I think were renovations in the room directly above ours the entire stay, very loud and made it impossibly to stay with a toddler. The "gym" had an elliptical, bike and a treadmill and the only thing that actually worked was the treadmill. It wasn't an awful hotel, but I've dealt with the whole wet room thing before in other hotels and I never return because of it. I remembered best western being much nicer, so I was a little disappointed.

Excellent room for the price

Recently updated decor. Clean and good layout with pull out sofa in a separate area than bed. The bed was a little too firm for my back.

The hotel is under remodeling, so you can smell the humidity and the dust.

A Nightmare

Posted 05-Sep-2016 on Hotels
We had booked a room and when we got there they sent us to our room. When we got into the room the odor was so bad we both had to leave. It smelt so bad of smoke that we felt sick. The desk was very good about putting us into another room, but the furniture there had a smell to it like smoke. Everything to torn up holes in walls, just was not what we consider a Best Western quality. We were suppose to stay 3 nights but checked out on the second night because we could not stand the smell any longer.

Breakfast was adequate, Coffee in room, No problems. Although some renovating was taking place it never bothered us.
