Tulsa is the bomb

Posted 12-Mar-2017
Pros: This hotel made me feel very comfortable.
Cons: Dimmers on the lights at the bedside and a vanity area with a chair to put on makeup with a magnifying mirror on an arm, would be a wonderful addition
Location: I wasn't there long enough to explore. Prhyme Restaurant was incredible and yummy and highly informed about craft beers. Highly recommended.
Driving solo from NY to LA, Tulsa was my third stop. Wonderful city even though it was just overnight. Right when I entered, the staff was attentive and caring. Not all of the Best Westerns were up to par, but I would highly recommend this one.

Come back in 30 days

Posted 23-Feb-2017
Older hotel undergoing renovation. Room was great and updated, lobby and first floor were well done and modernized. 2nd floor hallway was old carpet, they were painting the walls and pretty much a mess. Come back in 30 days and you'll be pleased.

Nice low priced clean hotel.

Posted 19-Dec-2016 on Hotels
Putting aside the fact that the hotel was undergoing renovations at the time of my stay, it was loud at night. The planes flying over head, and nonstop highway traffic, and even a few trains I didn't remember the map showing anywhere near the hotel. The second night was better because weather conditions in town were bad so highway noise was minimal, and plane noise was reduced. Aside from that, the staff was nice. The pool was small, I slept through the breakfast both mornings but the seating area for breakfast is small, the serving stations were large with a lot of heated trays so probably a good full breakfast, but like I said we slept through it and with food so close we went to IHOP day one and cracker barrel day two walking cause there was no reason to drive. Also worth noting, day two it was too cold to get out and do what we had planned so we stayed in and watched movies, housekeeping had come before we left for breakfast, and apologized for waking us, then came back when we were gone and cleaned it up, after we got back through the day housekeeping came and tried to clean the room 6 times between the hours of 2pm and 4pm each time opening the door despite us saying we were still there and the second time I even explained we were staying in that day and the room had already been cleaned. Don't know what was up with that but other than the interruptions and noise it was a great stay and I wouldn't mind doing it again when I can get out, but it's not my first choice.

Nice hotel

Posted 03-Dec-2016 on CheapTickets
Pros: location, cleanliness, friendliness of the staff, pool
Cons: see above about having more selections of hot tea at the breakfast counter.
Location: easily found off main road in a section of multiple hotels. Woody Guthrie Center, Oral Roberts U, Reconciliation Park, and Philbrook Museum
Wonderful pool, very friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere, good breakfast options. I would only ask for a few more breakfast options. For example, they had a good amount of black tea packets on the counter. I had to look in the drawer each day for the decaf option. Also, I would prefer herbal or green tea but there were no selections. Otherwise, I really enjoyed my stay.

HORRIBLE STAY

Posted 27-Nov-2016 on Hotels
The worst hotel stay I ever had! The assistant manager was rude and inconsiderate .The first room we were in was very smelly due to them renovating the whole floor and the room was very small. I asked for a business room and they had no such room so the reservation was wrong. Then our second room we moved into was aweful , the beds were hard as rocks , it's a nonsmoking hotel but it smelled of smoke bad! Plus the walls were paper thin so you could hear everything. No body could accommodate anything I asked for. The only good thing was the breakfast. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. EVER! The management did NOT want to do anything about my issues! Very sad that people like that run a business.

Not as nice as the last best western I stayed at

Posted 27-Nov-2016
I recently stayed at a best western in Olathe, KS that was much nicer than this one. I researched reviews and prices of hotels in Tulsa prior to making a reservation. I'd have to say this hotel did not quite live up to the high ratings it had received. The carpet in the hall was old and loose. Elevator smelled of cigarettes. The walls were not well insulated as we could hear the neighbors quite loudly as their kids played next door. Our room was on the second floor. Construction was taking place on most, if not all, of the third floor. There was hammering, drilling, and sawing directly above our room until about 830pm and started again just prior to 8am. So sleeping in wasn't really an option. That following morning I went to check out the extreme hammering on the third floor and there were several construction workers and equipment everywhere. Another thing to point out is that my room front door had a dead bolt that worked, but the little bar that allows the door to only open a few inches had been broken off and was missing. There was an adjoining door to the neighbors room and the deadbolt to it did not properly line up, I tried maneuvering the door while trying to lock the deadbolt but it was too far off center to lock. So the first night we had scooted the night stand in front of the door. Anyways, on a positive note, I spoke with the front desk lady the morning after our first night there and she quickly switched us to 1st floor which was much quieter/pleasant.

Not worth it

Posted 08-Nov-2016
We saved a little money by going through Expedia but even at the lower price, I wouldn't stay again. The room was highly outdated, cheap plastic furniture, torn up carpets, and a busted ac, and in busted I don't mean it didn't work, I mean it was obvious that either the filter had never been replaced or the unit was just that old. It made the entire room wet. Not humid. Wet. As in the sheets and bedding for noticeably damp every night, it was almost hard to breathe with the damp mildew air. Plus, they were doing what I think were renovations in the room directly above ours the entire stay, very loud and made it impossibly to stay with a toddler. The "gym" had an elliptical, bike and a treadmill and the only thing that actually worked was the treadmill. It wasn't an awful hotel, but I've dealt with the whole wet room thing before in other hotels and I never return because of it. I remembered best western being much nicer, so I was a little disappointed.
