When there, I was told it was the more typical 2:00 pm, but we couldn't get in until 3:00 pm (due to earlier guests leaving late, maybe.) "

"My husband, son and I stayed at the Colonna suite del Corso last week for two nights. What a brilliantly located option it turned out to be. Rooms are quirky. Ours had a huge round bed (odd, but comfortable). The room smelled strongly of air freshener when we arrived (note to the management - please don’t do that!) so we had to open the windows to let it disperse. Super neighborhood with great shopping and restaurants. Easy walk to historic venues. If you are ok with self check in and don't have a car, I would highly recommend. We would stay here again.
