This property is well maintained and very clean. The view is nice and a private setting. We enjoyed our stay and will consider returning in the future.
This mountain home has a beautiful view of the mountains. Enjoy bird watching on the deck with a great book, hit the Bartram Trail nearby, or go down and spend time on Lake Nantahala. This home has everything you need to make your stay comfortable.
The house is much nicer than pictured on VRBO. Very clean and well stocked with everything you need. It is private and has beautiful views. Pam is very helpful and thorough A perfect place to get away, especially during these times..

Fantastic Mountain Getaway
A lovely, welcoming house with all the necessities for your vacation. Beatifully designed, extremely clean, well stocked with quality home goods, great selection of books, music CDs and premium TV channels. The house stays on the top of a mountain and every morning we waked up above the clouds and enjoyed the scenery, spectacular sunsets and the excitement of the hummingbirds, yellow finches and cardinals.
Dear Pam - Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us!
We attended a mid-week wedding nearby so our stay was short. We definitely wished we had stayed a day or two longer to explore the area or just sit on the gorgeous deck and savor the scenery. This home is elegantly simple, all details are thought about and taken care of. The decor has so many stories, the art work, the books, the birds- just a tranquil oasis. The only part we were not prepared for was just how steep the roads were leading up to the house- definitely best to arrive in the daytime. Once we went up and down, we were fine! The owner definitely said the roads were steep but we were still surprised. Highly Recommend!
We had a great time at Pam's house. She was responsive and helpful and her house is lovely. We paddles Nantahala Lake and searched for waterfalls during our visit. A perfect location to enjoy birding.

Beautiful home- Terrible accessibility
Beautiful home with amazing views. However, the home owner misrepresented the access to the cabin. Extremely sharp hairpin curves and steep climbs. Our problem was I inquired and was told it was no problem even though I asked specifically about this issue.
Had a wonderful stay at the Mountain View House. We loved everything about our visit…the amazing views, the house, the bird life, all the windows, and just all the special touches. Such a beautiful setting to relax and refresh at, a slice of heaven. One of our favorite rentals; we can’t wait to visit again! Darlene & Greg Hall
Pam’s house is gorgeous inside and out. Amazing mountain views, very comfortable and beautiful accommodations, well stocked kitchen, and a great deck for relaxing and looking out at the mountains. Pam was extremely communicative and helped with many suggestions. Definitely one of the nicest VRBO properties you’ll find.
Very clean, great property, amazing views, wonderful host. Everything we were hoping for and more. Highly recommend! Make sure to arrive during the day and follow Pam’s directions to the house. We will definitely be back
We were elated with the mountain and forest views. Enjoyed watching the continually changing clouds and the variety of birds. We told friends it was like living in a treehouse with hot running water!
The decor is tasteful, the kitchen fully equipped, the beds comfortable, and the library very rewarding.
We enjoyed the fireplace on chilly mornings and the deck on warm afternoons.
Mountain View House is a lovely, quiet haven.
We had such a great time at Pam's house! It was an amazing property with the most beautiful mountain views, fully equipped kitchen and everything we needed was there. The drive got a bit confusing and nerve racking at some point, but if you follow Pam's directions exactly and drive cautiously, there should be no problems. Pam herself was an incredible host, always kept in touch, responded quickly, helped us with any issues we had and was so sweet! We really loved our short stay at this place, and would absolutely come back soon!
My husband and I’s experience with the booking, payment, communication with owner, scheduling, etc could not have been better for this property. Can not say enough wonderful things about the owner, Pam, truly! We had a death in the family and services occurred during our scheduled trip at the house. Pam was more than generous in working with us to move dates around so that we could do both. The home is a mountain retreat. The pictures do not do it justice! Views of the ridge and lake all along the back side of the home are gorgeous. The home itself is beautiful with it slate fireplace and thoughtfully decorated interior. The outside of the home is modern but natural looking. Pam keeps the house very well stocked. Towels, toiletries, kitchen tools, cookware, a large grill, wood for the fireplace, even birdseed for the bird feeders hanging from the exterior edges of the home are filled to the top, just bring your own personal necessities and groceries. The home is exceptionally clean, which my husband and I breathed a sigh of relief over during these times. There is also a binder provided by Pam of all the trails and other activities to do in the area. We hiked 3 of the trails she suggested in the binder. Wonderful experience that we will definitely repeat. Book this property and you will not regret it.
The house is beautiful and very comfortable. The kitchen is fully stocked with gear - we were able to make Thanksgiving dinner without difficulty. Communication with the host was excellent - very proactive and responsive. The only downside is that the last mile to the house is a steep gravel road with hairpin turns. It is fine once you get used to it but can be a bit nerve-wracking the first time.
My husband and I stayed at the Mountain View home for our anniversary. Our entire experience was so nice and relaxing with beautiful views! The home is thoughtfully decorated with well stocked bird feeders which is lovely to watch! We enjoyed our stay and cannot wait to go back!
If it is a view with privacy you want this cabin is spectacular! The view of the mountains is incredible. Large deck for your morning coffee or evening dinner. When you walk in the cabin it's like you are entering someone's personal home, not a rental. Everything you could possibly need is there. Pam was great communicating with and the check in was a breeze. Here's a few pointers before going. Shop before you go. Make sure you have gas in your vehicle. The road going up and down the mountain is tricky as well as the signage. The cabin is at the top of the mountain so the drive is roughly a mile up and down. Ask questions! This cabin is 4600 ft. up. Check in in the daylight. Driving the road at night could be a problem if your not familiar with the area. Over all, beautiful home, beautiful view! Great host!
We had a terrific stay at this beautiful home in the mountains. The home is well appointed and offers gorgeous views of the Nantahala forest. Everything was incredibly clean and Pam was a terrific host - offering suggestions of activities and compiling a comprehensive binder full of things to do in the area. Highly recommended!
Wonderful place in a beautiful setting! So glad we were able to spend time there. The owner was top notch and made the experience as seamless as possible.
We absolutely loved our stay at Pam's place. The house is on top of a mountain with an amazing view. It's bright, spacious, airy and super clean. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. Really loved seeing all the different types of birds that would come visit the feeders. We went on a 12-mile hike and didn't even have to get in our car to get to the trail, you could connect to the Appalachian Trail from her house. This is a perfect base for nature lovers who also likes the comfort and luxury of a clean, relaxing, modern house. Pam was an excellent host, great communication and put a lot of thoughtful touches in the house for her guests including a huge guidebook to help you get to know the area. She spent considerable time cleaning the place before we got there, which we greatly appreciated. All the positive reviews are right, this is the kind of place where you'll wish you'd stayed longer. We were there for 4 nights and wishing we could come back and stay even longer.
Loved the location our first time staying in this area. We really enjoyed the mountains and lake. Thank you Pam for the suggestion of leaving our boat at the marina. Made things very convenient for us. House was nice and well stocked!
What a wonderful location and property! We (3 adults) had an awesome stay at Pam's beautiful home and would have gladly stayed for a few more days if it had worked out. It is definitely a great place for 'getting away from it all' and de-stressing. We had a fun time hiking various trails, but enjoyed some downtime afterwards. Pam was very responsive to any questions from us and we highly recommend her property to anyone who wants a beautiful mountain getaway.
The house is Awesome, great views of the mountains. It is not far from the lake at all. It is an Open floor plan, as said in prior reviews the pictures don't do this place justice. It is really nice inside. Pam was great to work with and I am already looking forward to going back next year.
