The Owl's Perch - Backwoods glamping cabin over amazing creek

  • Go to where hotel's can't!! Get away from urban life and drive to the backwoods; we'd love to host you in the 200 sq ft treehouse-like, one room glamping cabin with WiFi. The cabin is behind our primary residence's back deck. We live on-site in the larger cabin. Guests are renting the small cabin only. We respect your privacy.

    View the prettiest creek off your private deck! Furnished to make simple meals or on the propane grill. 5" vehicle road clearance needed, not 4WD, for uneven gravel/dirt lane with potholes. NOT suitable for motorcycles. 2 miles from paved road. Venomous snakes and wild animals are indigenous to our area. No charging EV batteries. Use ONLY our directions and you'll enjoy the adventure getting here!

This is truly a hidden treasure! It was better than I had hoped for. We will definitely be going back and plan to stay longer. Most peaceful place we have ever stayed! Even though the way to the cabin is a single lane dirt/gravel road it was well worth it for the seclusion and view! Looking forward to our next visit.

Stayed at the Buffalo Junction cabin hosted by Doug and Alice, amazing hosts and amazing cabin! Very clean, organized and homey! Felt like a home away from home! Great spot to relax on the Buffalo Creek and gain perspective and spend time with your spouse! Beautiful location and town, great views. If you love the mountains this is a great retreat! Thanks again to Doug and Alice!

The view from the bed is so beautiful at this time with the leaves changing. Super quiet and the sound of the creek is peaceful. We enjoyed our stay and all the resources from Alice and Doug were super helpful. We would stay again!

Beautiful place to stay. So peaceful. Alice was so nice and gave us great instructions on how to get to The Owl's Perch. Recommend to anyone who needs a vacation. Just loved the area and view. Just make sure to get there before dark and 4 wheel drive vehicle helps to navigate the road.

My Favorite Place!

This is my 3rd year stay. The beauty and sound of nature here give me peace. Alice is the very best host of any place I’ve ever stayed. I will definitely be back next year for my little piece of tranquility!

2 Days of Tranquility

We spent two days at the Perched Owl and sank into the coziness of the one room suite and found some peace sitting on the private deck listening and observing the river from above. It was a very grounding experience as there isn’t WiFi available and zero service in the area which helped eliminate any distractions. Alice was a great host, very friendly and welcoming and we can’t wait to spend a few more days after spring.

This place is a hidden diamond!! It's the most awesome little place you will find. Alice and Doug are so helpful and make you feel like family. She has lots of "to do" ideas typed up as to hiking trails, restaurants, and other things in the area including step by step directions!!, If you want to just sit back, relax and leave your "real" life behind.....this is your place!! I'm already looking at my calendar as to when I can go back.
