I had to find a place to stay for one night and I totally should have paid more. The place was super crowded, the pods were crazy tiny, and there was no storage space. People on my floor (women only), while respectful, were dirty as hell. People took shoes into the room when they should have left the shoes outside in the locker. Worse yet they put shoes on the rack where you can put your luggage and I'd come back to the room with a pair of disgusting smelly platform next to my stuff. I couldn't stand it and was lucky that they gave me a spot next to the window so there's some space on the side. The pod was OK but it's way too many beds in one room. I know it's Tokyo but I've stayed in much better capsules than this one. That said it is indeed very cheap and in a safe neighbourhood which is technically walkable to Ueno (20 min on foot). I can also tell the cleaners do their absolute best to keep this place clean but man 4 (5?6? can't remember) shower stalls for the whole building is just not enough. I made sure I took an early shower before the stall gets wrecked. Otherwise there were enough toilets and sinks on each floor which was appreciated. There's a tiny space upstairs which you can sit and do some work but gets crowded fast.
