The room was small but not much different to a lot of hotel rooms in Japan, it was perfect for the 2 of us. What made this stay great for us was the location! Asakusa is such a great and quiet neighbourhood to stay in. The hotel is just 15 mins from Senso-Ji which means we got to see it at night when it's quieter. It's also right next to Kappabashi, the best street in Tokyo to shop for kitchen knives and tools and ceramics. To get anywhere else in Tokyo, you can easily get to Ueno station (15 mins walk) or get a train on the Ginza or Asakusa line. The open-air bath was an amazing addition to our stay and I wish I used it more. It is in walking distance to a lot of the local sites and activities and the price was reasonable. Here are some aspects that I did not like so much and why I took away stars: -unfortunately, the staff barely spoke any English (or any of the other languages I speak...). I am aware that I am in a foreign country and I typically make a valid attempt at adapting. That being said, at least that was working in the tourism industry, should be able to speak at least one other language that is. -our room was EXTREMELY small and there was virtually no storage. Again, I understand that it's Japan, but there was no drawer/closet etc. to put anything in. There was also no space where a suitcase could be fully opened except for on the bed or the hallway. We opted for the latter. -since there was no desk or work space in the room I would have at least wished for a common area in the hotel where one could sit and be one's computer for a while. Unfortunately, the only common space was the very small lobby itself with no tables/desks.
