People rent the rooms in this type of hotel for a few hours for "personal time" with partners. Now on saying this, our stay was pleasant, the hotel is close to a subway station and on fast train line to the airport and centre of the city. The area the hotel is the red light district of Tokyo. As will all of Japan, it is pretty safe for women in world terms. The staff were helpful once they realized we had booked for the whole night!
