With numerous tiny #bar lining up, the nickname comes from the fact in the past so many drunk salarymen doing their "bussiness" there because there's no toilet anywhere in this alleyway. Today, regulation has been set in the area so it is a lot cleaner than before. The alleyway is very narrow and can only fit at maximum 2 people at a time so be mindful of your surrounding when visiting especially when there's many drunk people walking by from the bars. The bars are also very tiny and can only fit less than 10 people at a time. A bit dated but great great service. They helped us booked our accommodation to Ginzan Onsen. Highly recommended for a short trip to Shinjuku. It was the most disgusting hostel we´ve ever stayed in our whole lives! The smell of the room was terrible!! It smelled like sweat and pee because it´s such an old building or maybe because of the matress? We were so glad that we stayed one night only.
