With numerous tiny #bar lining up, the nickname comes from the fact in the past so many drunk salarymen doing their "bussiness" there because there's no toilet anywhere in this alleyway. Today, regulation has been set in the area so it is a lot cleaner than before. The alleyway is very narrow and can only fit at maximum 2 people at a time so be mindful of your surrounding when visiting especially when there's many drunk people walking by from the bars. The bars are also very tiny and can only fit less than 10 people at a time. A fine capsule hotel with a fantastic Shinjuku location, you’re close to the train station, food, Golden Gai and all the action. Just watch out for the toots and hostess bar callers. Regardless of how many nights you’re staying, you’re out by 10am each day as the capsules are deep cleaned. If you’d like to bathe, be sure to have 200¥. That’ll get you 30min in the shower. I appreciated the free soda fountain, purified water and ice cream machine! They got a zillion manga, so watch out! The manager, in particular, seems to lack basic customer service skills and appears unfriendly. As a hotel manager myself, I always prioritize the guests' experience, and my staff are kind and helpful. However, at this place, the staff seemed hesitant to even lend me a pen or a piece of paper. I was thoroughly disappointed.
