"This clean, mountain top property offered a cool respite from the Lerici crowd. The staff are so welcoming and friendly that you feel right at home. Excellent breakfasts get your day going. I’d recommend the hotel for travelers on a budget who get a very nice place to boot."

"If you do not speak Italian, it is useful to know how to speak some Italian. The people are very kind and lovely, but it’s helpful to know Italian language. The setting is beautiful and food is delicious at the restaurant. The accommodations are clean, nice. I would return to the place and stay again. It is peaceful and relaxing."

"This eco-friendly hotel is a hidden gem. The house is comfortable and clean, situated in the mountains. The couple that run the hotel are AMAZING. They were very much on top of supporting our family while we stayed there. "

"We loved that the property was away from the town. After visiting the town and all the activity - it was nice to enjoy the space and the quiet. Our host's were exceptional, breakfast was more then adequate. We sat and had a glass of red wine in the evening buy it locally.
Highly recommend."

Beautiful location, we had nice terrace to sit out on overlooking pool. Not sure all rooms as good. Rooms are in a partially restored village and quite basic but in character. Views of green hills and distant mountains great. We were surprised though that village is some 800 meters above reception and restaurant down steep road . Most people seemed to dive and we walked as we like to try local wine. Restaurant is great and reasonable priced, 60 Euro for tasting menu with local wine for two...

Nice, clean room with good AC. The staff couldn’t have been more lovely and even arranged some vegan croissants for my breakfast! Definitely recommend staying here.

Modern room, friendly staff, sweet dog Oto keeps you company and make u smile.. Views are amazing. The only issue we had was finding the property as the signage for the hotel is not great and we really struggled to find it.. The signage name at the property door is totally different name than what you booked on Expedia.. Room can benefit from a kettle and drinking facility and mini fridge other than that great stay 😊

Our stay with Massimo and Sussana was exceptional. They are phenomenal hosts, with a great attention to detail. Their B & B is beautiful, well kept and extremely modern. It is located in the mountains, just outside of Spezia. If you are using public transport, there are bus routes to and from La Spezia, where you can easily travel to and from Cinque Terre. As they are located in the mountains, it was a tough job dragging our suitcase up the mountain, to the B& B. A car or scooter would be ideal...

The location itself is fantastic, beautiful views, in the middle of mountains, relaxed and family friendly.
The location is easy enough to get to, sat nav had no trouble finding it and the mighty fiat 500 rental made it no problem.
This is a farm stay, dont expect the Hilton and power showers, however do expect donkeys, horses, cows, dogs, cats and the occasional scorpion (they aren't particularly dangerous apparently)

The hotel staff were very friendly. The room was comfortable. The breakfasts provided were more than adequate. The hotel staff were very helpful, ringing for taxis and to the pharmacy. The position is absolutely excellent - right on the beach. The setting is fantastic with wonderful views of the bay. About a 10 minute walk into the mani town square along a lovely promenade. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Hotel San Terenzo has a brilliant location it is on the beach, you can use the sunbeds on the roof and not the ones on the beach. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, it was a small hotel with friendly staff.

We have stayed here several times in the last few years because it is always great value.Plus the host is always very welcoming and the free car park is very useful. The rooms are spacious and have large radiators.Good selection at the breakfast buffet with only one very slight complaint,no toaster.

The best area to stay in Terrarossa is within the historic centre, particularly around the main piazza and the streets immediately radiating from it.
This central area is the heart of Terrarossa, offering a truly authentic Tuscan experience. You'll find charming, narrow cobblestone streets, traditional stone buildings, and a relaxed pace of life. The main piazza, often bustling with locals, is typically where you'll find the town's most important church and a selection of local cafes and trattorias. It's very walkable, allowing you to explore the local shops and artisan workshops with ease.
Couples looking for a romantic and tranquil escape will find the historic centre ideal. Staying here offers the convenience of stepping out directly into the town's character, with easy access to intimate dining experiences and the opportunity to simply enjoy a glass of local wine while watching daily life unfold. Many accommodations here are beautifully restored historic properties, offering a touch of old-world charm.
For those who appreciate convenience and a slightly more contemporary feel while still being close to the historic charm, the areas just outside the immediate historic core, particularly those with views over the rolling Tuscan hills, are excellent.
When is the best time to go to Terrarossa?
The best time to go to Terrarossa, Tuscany, is during the spring (April to June) or autumn (September to October) for pleasant weather and fewer crowds.
During these shoulder seasons, the weather is typically mild and sunny, superb for exploring the Tuscan countryside. You'll find the vineyards and olive groves at their most picturesque, either bursting with new growth in spring or rich with harvest colours in autumn. This period also allows for a more relaxed experience of local markets and hilltop towns without the peak summer rush.
Couples looking for a romantic escape will particularly enjoy spring and autumn. The moderate temperatures are ideal for leisurely walks through historic villages like San Gimignano or Siena, and for enjoying al fresco dining at local trattorias. These seasons offer a more intimate atmosphere for wine tasting tours and cooking classes, experiences that Terrarossa is well-known for.
Families travelling with children will also find these times more comfortable. The milder weather means less intense heat for outdoor activities and sightseeing, making day trips to places like the Chianti region or Florence more enjoyable for everyone.
