Wonderful hotel

Posted 26-Jun-2017
This was our fourth visit to the Plantaccion del sur in Costa Adeje. We were not disappointed! The Plantaccion is a fabulous hotel with staff who go out of their way to be nice to you! It was fairly quiet at this time of year so they were taking advantage of this and repairing and repainting some parts of the hotel. This didn't affect our enjoyment and indeed we were upgraded to a villa! The hotel continues to be of a very high standard and we already look forward to our next holiday here! Note that the hotel is on a hill so if you want to walk around the Plaza del Duque you would need to be mobile. You can get a taxi back to the hotel though so if you want a superb high quality hotel in Tenerife this is the one! We will be back!

Lovely spacious hotel with great staff

Posted 06-Jun-2017
Very clean and spacious, the hotel was able to contain all guests without any tussling for sun beds or meal times. Staff were very happy and gracious. This made for a very relaxing holiday. A little walk to beach and restaurants to find plenty of choice and variety.

Fantastic break here. Hotel is exceptional, cannot fault anything. Service and staff friendly and professional. 5 star done in a friendly welcoming manner. Breakfast amazing. Room wonderful. Prices reasonable. Location pleasant with no neon egg and chips cafes in sight. Already looking to rebook

Great hotel with lovely facilities

Posted 08-Apr-2017
Pros: Friendly staff, pool facilities great.
Cons: Access cards for rooms and safes, would have been ideal if there was a supermket near by for essentials like bottled water as v exp in hotel
Location: Great location to the sea, supermarket and high end shops at bottom of hill but watch if you're carrying heavy bottles of water back up that hill
Excellent pool facilities and food, however not a lot of food choice for children or vegetarians. The walk to the beach was easy however as the hotel is situated on a hill it made walking back a bit of a chore and we are two fit, healthy people! One downside was card access to our room, the same card was also used for the safe, a number of times the card wouldn't work and I had to go down to reception to have it re-set. I was advised not to put card near a mobile phone as that affects it, even when I carried card separately it still needed re-setting. A pain! I wasn't the only guest with this issue. The spa area we had to pay for, it would have been nice if first time was free and only for an hour, it was so quiet we were only ones there at one point. Would consider all inclusive instead as the bill did mount up

Definitely not a 5*

Posted 03-Apr-2017
Pros: The swimming pool area was nice.
Cons: The whole place needs to be modernised, the rooms need more facilities and there needs to be a better variety of food at the buffet.
Location: A 10 minute walk to the shopping centre and about 5 minutes down the hill to the beach which is nice.
Previously I have stayed at the Gran Hotel Bahia Del Duce which is just below this hotel, that is in a totally different league to this despite them both being 5* hotels. This hotel did not feel like a 5* in any regard. The room facilities are minimal, you have to ask for everything, nothing appears to be standard - no tea/coffee making facilities, no alarm clock, no free water (every bottle costs €4.50). I agree with the environmental policy of not making too much laundry, but I feel that this is excessive as our towels were never changed during a 5 night stay. The evening turn down service is a waste of time - either do it properly, or don't both at all. The décor in the hotel looks tired and the rooms are very bare. Most of the staff are pleasant, but nothing is ever done with any speed or efficiency, it's definitely a manana attitude to everything. The location is OK, but you are up a hill so not so good for the less mobile, although they do operate a shuttle down to the beach a few times a day. My trip was OK, but overall it was a bit disappointing and I won't be going back there.

Comfortable Hotel, Nice Views in Good Area

Posted 02-Apr-2017
Pros: The staff were friendly and very accommodating, the room was spacious with a large balcony with comfortable seating. The house keeping was very good.
Cons: Water in the rooms. There was Yoga/Pilates on offer but not at a good time as it clashed with breakfast.
Location: Numerous restaurants lots of seafood on the front down the hill lovely sunsets pleasant walk to Caleta along the coast. Quite area which suited us.
Welcomed with a cold drink soft or carva. The location had lovely views. Easy to travel on the public buses which were air conditioned. We did have a very accommodating bus driver who stopped at the top of the hill on one occasion worth asking. Overall has a very nice stay

Nothing too much trouble, lovely setting

Posted 29-Mar-2017
Pros: Attentive staff, lovely settinf
Cons: All the disabled toilets need standardised grab rails on both sides of the toilets, the one with the most space needs to be a lift up one.
Location: On top,of an incline, with no other shops or restaurants adjacent, need to go down the hill for these.
Staff very attentive, loads of choice at breakfast. Many pools to choose from ( one with a hoist) and gardens lovely. Hotel is on the top of a hill, so about 20 minute walk to beach or a 5 euro taxi ride, people with mobility issues may struggle. There are 4 adapted rooms with wheel in shower with seat, the toilets have a grab rail,on one side, but as the toilet is in a separate room in the bathroom it can be a bit tight for a wheelchair, although I manage and am a paraplegic wheelchair user.

Lovely hotel a steep hill from the beach

Posted 11-Mar-2017
Had a lovely stay but the walk back up to the hotel would be hard for older guests
