Prime location. Adjacent parking lot was priceless. Views from restaurant and cocktail area stunning but food was average. Neighboring restaurant has a band which started a little before 10 pm and was loud enough to compete with room TV. Bed was very firm.

This is a fabulous old style hotel brought up to date in a really good location for Ortigia. The rooftop restaurant and terrace have a beautiful view and breakfast has a very large choice and is very good. The staff are extremely attentive and all seem to have the freedom to chat to guests like human beings and not "5 star robots". A welcome change.

The private beach and the breakfast/terrace make this hotel 5*****. The hotel is badly in need of updating/renovating. Old stained carpets and stodgy furniture and curtains. They could definitely keep all the old world charm with a fresh look. However, the staff is incredible and keeps the hotel clean and comfortable despite it being outdated. We were very comfortable during our stay and were impressed by the service and friendliness of the staff. The private boat to the private beach club was phenomenal and because of this and the views from the terrace for breakfast and pre-dinner drinks would have me booking this stay again anytime I visit Ortigia. Thank you to all of the staff who made us feel welcome and well taken care of! We loved Ortigia and this hotel made it truly special with the amenities, waterfront location, and phenomenal service!

I enjoyed four unforgettable days exploring beautiful Ortigia -staying at the Grand Hotel Ortigia, which is a 5-star luxury hotel overlooking the harbor. It is just a short stroll to the must-see landmarks such as the ruins of the Temple of Apollo, the Aretusa Fountain, and the renowned Cathedral of Syracuse. it was built in 1890 and was completely renovated while preserving its classic old-world charm with marble floors, Corinthian columns, and beautiful art-filled common areas. They have an upscale rooftop restaurant and lounge on the third floor, which serves a sumptuous breakfast buffet and has great outdoor seating with spectacular views. I went up to the terrace one evening to enjoy the sunset with an Aperol Spritz and some nibbles and, after the sun went down, an exceptionally talented young man beautifully played his violin serenading the guests. Parking in the old city is a challenge, and not for the faint of heart. But the hotel does have a small lot nearby, but which seemed to stay full and was hard to find. With the helpful staff, I was able to register my rental car to allow me to drive to hotel which is in the restricted tourist zone and I moved my car to their lot one evening once the crowds had dissipated a bit. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and even helped arrange a small group boat tour. This hotel truly deserves its name the Grand Hotel Ortigia Siracusa!

A wonderful hotel in a fantastic location on the waterfront and within easy walking of all major sites. The buffet breakfast was outstanding and included cooked to order items. The room was immaculate and tastefully furnished. The room staff worked hard and made it look as good as new each day. The front desk staff were also friendly and helpful.

Superb staff, Emanuel at front desk went above and beyond printing out maps and providing suggestions for day trips. Hotel and rooms are very dated and lack a cohesive look. Bathroom smelled of sewage and the entire hotel had the smell of grandma’s awful perfume. Rooms are small, location is superb and right on the water. Amazing views from the top floor restaurant. Wait staff fantastic and very attentive.
