Situated at the foot of Sydney Harbour Bridge is an attractive suburb that charms with its waterfront setting, stunning views and theme park rides.

Waterfront restaurants, an amusement park and concert hall, not to mention superb views of the bridge and harbour, make Milsons Point a must-see Sydney destination. Experience traditional and modern theme park rides, watch top musical acts perform and swim in an open-air pool under the shade of the famous bridge. The popular suburb is also a favourite spot to enjoy the city’s New Year’s Eve fireworks display.

One of the most popular draws at Milsons Point is Luna Park. This vintage theme park has been here since 1935 and retains many of its original attractions. Enter the fun hall and take a trip down memory lane as you play old-fashioned slot machines and walk by the distorting mirrors. Ride the Ferris wheel for superb views of Sydney Harbour Bridge. Daredevils will enjoy some of the more modern adrenalin rides. Book tickets for a concert at the Big Top, the amusement park's performance venue.

Next door to the park is the North Sydney Olympic Pool. Go for a swim in the open-air pool, which is tucked under the bridge and overlooks the harbour.

If you are in Sydney on New Year’s Eve, come to Milsons Point for an excellent vantage point to watch the fireworks display. Even if you can’t make it to the spectacular event, visit for the close-up views of the bridge’s huge iron girders.

Round off your day with a meal in one of the area’s restaurants and then walk back along the waterfront. Take in views of the illuminated bridge and the lights of south Sydney reflected on the water.

Milsons Point is located on the north side of Sydney Harbour, 3 kilometres (2 miles) from the central business district. It is well served by train, road and ferry links. For accommodation, the suburb can prove a good and sometimes cheaper option for those looking to base themselves near central Sydney.
