The best time to visit Sud is during the late spring (May-June) and early autumn (September-October) when the weather is pleasant and the crowds are thinner.During late spring, the landscape is lush and green, and the temperatures are comfortably mild, typically ranging from 15°C to 20°C. This is ideal for exploring the region's hiking and cycling trails, particularly around the Eifel National Park, which will be in full bloom. It's also a good time to enjoy outdoor dining at the many cafes and restaurants in towns like Monschau without the peak summer rush.Early autumn offers similar comfortable temperatures, usually between 10°C and 18°C, with the added beauty of changing foliage. This period is superb for scenic drives through the Ahr Valley, known for its vineyards, and for attending local wine festivals.
