"We actually privately eloped here, we said private vows and exchanged rings on the back deck as the view was INCREDIBLE. We stayed for two nights and I wish we would have stayed longer. "Spent a few days away with our adult (20s) children. This is a beautiful condo. Well decorated and appointed. The owners were quick to answer our questions. Lots of nice touches and stocked with everything we needed. I had read in a review that the entry road is through the Mexican restaurant parking lot. That was very helpful as it was dark and raining when we arrived. The waterfall out back is amazing! We also drove to see Whtewater Falls. Would love to return here again in the future."

"The only toilet facilities was a porta potty which smelled and looked like it had not been emptied in months. Shower did not have a way to lock the door of the only shower, to keep others out. We did not have cell phone reception because of the mountains and no way to contact the owner. No one was around to check us in."

"This cabin was very cute and clean. There is a gas grill and a fire pit, which were not mentioned in the listing, but were a welcome addition. The porch is a wonderful place to hang out. Plenty of space for your dog to play fetch on the property. We found the sleeping quarters a little hot, but the mattress was very comfortable. Great location, 5 minutes from Dupont, 30 from Looking Glass/Pisgah, and an hour from the Parkway."

A relaxing night at the Wingate
"I stay at the Wingate when I visit my daughter the night before I fly home because the flight I take from Asheville Regional, which is literally across the street, leaves so early in the morning. No worries. There are no late night flights to keep you awake. The hotel has really upped their game. They had flowers in the entranceway. The lobby didn't look as tired as in the past. And the two people who serviced the front desk were attentive and quick to help me. They offered me a room on any floor I wanted. I chose the first floor. But, best of all, they had expanded their TV offerings to a number of movie channels which enabled me to enjoy my late afternoon and early evening before going to bed. They offered a wake up call which happened at the appointed time. It was clean, quiet, and a pleasant end to a lovely relaxing 10 day visit with my daughter. I look forward to staying there again. "
