Weekend getaway.

Posted 20-Jan-2017
Pros: Always open in the winter. Good price.
Cons: Different chairs. The chairs in our room were very uncomfortable.
Location: We go just to relax. The town is very quiet. Only a few restaurants and motels open this time of year.
Just go to relax and a weekend getaway. Usually go once a year.

ビーチ前

冬で泳ぐことはないけど、ビーチが目の前の良い部屋でした。 夏場であればより良い部屋と感じると思います。

Not too expensive, on the beach

Posted 17-Nov-2016
Pros: Moderate cost
Cons: Breakfast
Have stayed here several times passing through on our way further north or south. We keep looking for another place to try, but this one always ends up being the least-expensive mid-range option. Never any line-ups, but the check-ins are always a bit slower than seems necessary and the clerks are always a bit less friendly than one might expect for a tourist town. The rooms are nice enough, although this time our shower curtain was too short and we had to use a wet towel to keep it weighted down. The included breakfast is consistently horrible. Everything on styrofoam and plastic with no recycling bins. Almost everything is from a powdered mix (scrambled eggs) or cans (fruit cocktail) and way too salty (eggs, sausage, milk sausage gravy for biscuits). Coffee is terrible. However, you can make waffles, they have regular (i.e., unsugared) Cherrios, instant oatmeal, and real milk.

Nice place to stay in Mackinaw City in Novembe.

Posted 14-Nov-2016
Pros: It's clean and it s open.
Cons: Hallways could have been cleaner.
Location: Not much to do out of season. Everything is closed. But I m just passing through..
Nice hotel but could better with a bit of attention paid to small details. I've stayed at this hotel almost every year for the last ten years. And will stay here again. Actually there are only two or three hotels open in Mackinaw City in November so I have no choice.

Very UNCOMFORTABLE BEDS

Posted 13-Nov-2016
Pros: Breakfast was okay, but it was a buffet style so there were a million people milling around half asleep, it was kind of chaotic. I know breakfast is free here, but if you want a really good breakfast, go to the Pancake Chef just down the road. That is what we did on our second morning.
Cons: The room 328 it self was fine. The wood furniture is a bit too big, there was a large bench right inside our door so we couldn't bring the luggage cart inside the room. I was stuck outside the door while my mom and aunt unloaded it. We checked in late and we're excited to learn that the pool is open late, until midnight. The room wasn't bad, it was clean. The bathroom was clean, the bathroom had a broken loose tile on the floor, but the vanity was newly updated. The shower and tub area was old, 1980's old but worked. Water pressure for the shower was not good. There was peeling wallpaper where the shower curtail rail met the wall. Coffee cups in the bathroom were not individually sealed, they were disposable though. The TV was fairly good sized, the nightstand was tiny though. Both me and my mom use CPap machines, They have a large telephone, alarm clock and lamp on the nightstand, barely any room for my machine. Wall lamps would work better to give guests space on the nightstand. My mom used a chair for her machine. My aunt is the one who always got the ice. It wasn't until I was going to pour fresh ice in our cooler for the trip home that I noticed black mold on the ice bucket lid. Had I seen it originally I would have requested a new bucket be brought up. So the room while not great but not horrid either. The beds however... those were horrendous. So very uncomfortable. You feel like your sleeping on the floor. We spent October 23-25 at the Hamilton and got home on 25th at
Location: It's within walking distance of restaurants and gift shops. It's right next door to a Ferry dock to go to the Island.

Jacuzzi tub was filthy. It had not been cleaned.

Posted 09-Nov-2016
Pros: View was nice. Bed was comfortable.
Cons: Jacuzzi tub was filthy. It had not been cleaned.
Location: Walking distance to many bars/restaurants.
Breakfast was pretty gross. And all of the dishes/utensils/cups are styrofoam. I thought this was 2016.

Mackinaw shuts down in November.

Posted 06-Nov-2016 on Hotels
Great location. Needs updating in the decor of the rooms. Great bed though. It was November so I guess it was too cold for some guests because saw some.people smoking in the halls. Didn't appreciate that.
