"The welcome was very friendly and the complimentary coffee from Reception was a lovely touch. Our room was in the old part of the building. It was spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished. You need to duck under openings at parts on the stairs but this was part of the charm. We were going to an evening celebration in Stamford and although the front door is locked at midnight Dan kindly offered to stay up just requesting that we called to let him know ( we were like Cinderella and arrived back...

"Clean & comfortable room above the pub. Very comfy bed and good bath/shower. Bathroom and loo were outside of our room behind a curtain, which was fine for us, though did feel like anyone could potentially go in as there was direct access from the street up some stairs (unlikely, of course, but felt a bit strange!) Old & atmospheric, but felt could have done with a few touch ups. Thought it was a bit expensive for the money, though appreciate Stamford is pricey. Food in the pub was lovely,...
