"Great location in the middle of the French Quarter and easy access to lots of fun activities. Noisy outside late into the night. The rooms with balconies and windows on the front side of the hotel do not block the noisy people partying in the streets. Hotel had great vibes, it’s old and has a lot of great character."

"The staff at the Alder is above and beyond! Roomy rooms. One pointer. Ask for a room that doesn’t face front. There is a home full of roosters across the street and you get woken up at 5 a.m. or better yet bring a sound machine!"

"The hotel's beds and furniture were damaged and dirty. The door had a gap and it appeared to have been kicked in. The room had bugs. I observed the front desk manager trying to catch a cockroach with a sheet of paper while she had a line of guest. I definitely did not feel safe in this hotel."

"This was our first time staying here. We loved the location, how clean our room was, the breakfast choices of muffins, bagels, etc (nothing hot) all day coffee and juices. What was extra helpful was the sitting area with a large couch and some comfy chairs. We had 3 rooms and it was the perfect gathering spot when we weren’t out on the town!!! We will be back!"

"Our room had a broken refrigerator and there was no maintenance available. Although I’ve paid in full via Expedia, the hotel double charged the full room charge. Will not return and recommend."
