"This is the first time a host has made me feel unwelcome and unsafe. She insisted that we send a copy of the government-issued photo ID for every adult staying in the house, with no care about possible identity theft. She acknowledged that the VRBO platform isn't great for that and told us to text a random number with those instead. She provided no information about the security of how she would store those copies or her retention policy. We didn't know about this requirement until after the place was booked and paid for, or I would have chosen a different place. She would not accept a reasonable substitute, like a list of the names of the people staying in the house, but insisted we had to send copies of our IDs. She refused to program the locks for us until she had copies, and I was worried all weekend that she would reprogram the locks and lock us out of the house because of her reaction to the information she did receive from us. While the house was adequate, this host's practices are dangerous to your safety, and I advise everyone to stay away."

"Big things: - THIS IS NOT A TWO BATH HOUSE. There is one full bathroom and a powder room. The listing is wrong, there is no second shower and we would never have booked for our party of 6 knowing this, so now you know too. - The cleaning standards are subpar, DO NOT STAY WITH YOUNG CHILDREN. So many examples I could list but, sticking with big things, the worst was the floors were so dirty everyone's feet/socks turned black and we found a plate of moldy hamburgers in the microwave. When we contacted the rental company, they did send out an emergency cleaner, but even that clean was less than stellar (think surface clean when this place needs a deep, thorough clean).Ultimately I just expect accurate listing and basic cleanliness - this rental failed. They definitely put more attention into the styling (it does look surface nice) than they do with maintenance."
"We have a family of six adults, they have a huge couch where we could all sit comfortably together and watch a movie. We were in for a family wedding and it was nice to all stay together, rather than individual hotel rooms. We highly recommend this location if you need somewhere to stay in the Chicago land area."
