We were extremely pleased with our visit to The String Of Horses. Beautiful,relaxed hotel, very pleasent and helpful staff. Me and my family really enjoyed it thank you very much.

My wife and I booked 2 nights in this Bed & Breakfast establishment because we thought it looked fantastic and the reviews were excellent and we had promised ourselves a special break away from home that was something to remember. We were greeted by Ian and Hazel who showed us to our room and they freely offered us everything that we had hoped for. Place was easy enough to find with adequate parking right outside. On going in there was a friendly welcoming greating and there was nothing to check-in. After check-in we were asked if would be having an evening meal which we accepted. We had opted for a larger double room and it was clean and tidy and what you would expect from a rural country inn. Ideally situated near to M6 motorway junction 42 and 43. Lovely country location. Clean and comfortable rooms (fan provided) good food and friendly staff. Beautiful mature gardens. Plenty of free on site parking,free Wi-Fi. Food and accommodation reasonably priced.

we were made welcome as soon as we arrived, the rooms are big and so are the bathrooms. the value for money was exceptional. free parking and a nice english breakfast included in the price.all in all fab stay

My wife and I stayed here for one night 20-8-26, the place is really easy to find, located in a village out in the countryside a few miles from Carlisle. Everything about the place is great, the food, the beer, the location and car parking. Best of all are the staff, really friendly and helpful. It was immaculate and in an ideal location for me. The room was lovely and spacious with an extremely comfortable bed and pillows. The staff were friendly and approachable and the car is secure, Nothing to fault.

I stayed in the annex luxury apartments which are fantastic. Amazing comfortable king size bed. Luxury bathroom and living area - like a suite set up. Two large TVs and kitchen - the sort of place you would buy.

Andy & Toni are both wonderful hosts. They made us feel so welcome & made sure that we had everything we needed. Breakfasts were marvelous. Look forward to our next visit. Thank you for making our stay so pleasant.

Lovely well maintained Victorian house, don't change anything, it's really nice.

Family get together for 2 nights. Food excellent, bar service very good and rooms spacious and clean.

The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming they were superb. We were sorry the restaurant and bar were shut and there was no hot option for breakfast. (We stayed Sunday to Monday)
