"Our stay was fine for the short time we were there as a place to lay our heads but for the price we paid I was a little disappointed. In all honesty The beds felt like a horse has broken them in, we have all woken up with sore backs today so definitely need adjusting (or even a mattress topper) the curtains were very thin so we were all woken up with the light first thing which was also frustrating as we wanted to make the most of the rest. "All the staff were helpful The Breakfast area has a gluten free station with bread rolls etc and a designated toaster Shame they don’t get their sausages from Tesco as they are GF but they cooked me veggie ones instead which was lovely. The food on the Restaurant was amazing - I’m not usually one to rave over food but the Sea Bass meal was delicious Was unaware I had to pay £6 to park which I felt was a bit steep on top of the room"

"Tired hotel. Disinterested staff especially reception which was frankly dreadful. What could be a wonderful hotel in a fantastic location is way overpriced and average. You can't check in until 3pm but have to be out by 11am. Lastly the breakfast is at best average. There's a cafe down the road on the seafront that does a better breakfast."

"Very convenient for early Southend airport departure. Restaurant however very basic. Chips clearly fried from frozen, etc. Rooms a bit dated. Nice big bed, but tiny tv on wall? Our sink would not drain. Clearly blocked pipes. When reported in the morning, the duty officer making the bog standard comment "oh, I will make a note", before turning back to whatever he was doing before. Forgotten already..."

"I felt comfortable as a solo traveller. But then it was my home town for nearly 40 years. However staff fantastic. I didn't check in until quite late in the day, and was told my room would be in the 1st not grounds floor which I had asked for. But the reason was the lock on my ground floor was playing up and needed a repair. But I could lock from inside and although it was a struggle I managed it so it was my choice to take the ground floor. Peaceful night. Nice shower. Found duvet in cupboard not on bed as it was hot, but I needed it during night. The sheets alone were a nice touch though as was very hot outside. Breakfast was included which was just enough for me. Staff from check in until check out were lovely and friendly. This time was a 1 night stay but I would definitely use it more when going to see family and friends"
