Staff very accomodating
Clean, comfortable
Beautiful Castle
comfortable
we didn't stay for breakfast
parking a bit far although Staff accomodated a way to unload luggage thru a different entrance.
a bit difficult to find on maps. best to get exact location from office or navigate to Serano
This was a bucket list item - stay in a castle!! it was a real treat, the room was very clean, bed comfortable, great shower. Easy and free parking was a bonus, and so easy to walk around Sorano. The dinner was exceptional, definitely eat in their restaurant at least once. We would definitely stay here again.
This property itself was truly amazing! To top that off, the staff and continental breakfast were truly wonderful! Everything about our stay here was just beautiful!
Loved the rooms, the rugs, the comfortable beds and beautiful views. The woman serving coffee in the breakfast area seemed stressed and a bit grumpy but the breakfast was delicious!
In my best stays in this 3 weeks trip in Italy. View from the room was amazing, looking down in the medieval village. The Sorano village is such a nice surprise. Staff was very welcoming. Being I. That castle and room almost made me travel in time, what a great feeling to be there. And price was very fair !!
The staff was fantastic. They are kind, helpful, and have passion for their food and wine. The place is perfect if you want some quiet time close to nature.
Cannot fault the fortezza. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The fortress is beautiful, the room we stayed in was modern feel, with gorgeous views.
The town was delightful. I would recommend
We loved our stay! The staff was wonderful! The property is so interesting and truly unique. When you walk down into town you feel like you are in a storybook! If you are looking for a unique place to stay this is it!
We loved our stay at the Fortezza. The views from our room were magnificent!! The town is lovely to stroll around and we had some delicious food at the restaurant the hotel recommended.
I took a night time tour to some local caves that was very interesting
I thought the drive up to drop off our luggage was pretty fun! Very steep with a couple tight turns. The free parking area is close enough to bring luggage from if you don’t want to drive the steep way. I did have a little trouble finding it.
Breakfast was amazing!
This was our second stay at this hotel and as with our previous stay in 2018 we were not disappointed. The uniqueness of the the property, the incredible views of the the surrounding countryside and the wonderful food in the restaurant made for great stay.

Dear Nancy, thank you for appreciating your stay at Hotel della fortezza! Best wishes from our staff
The place is a part of history, but very well maintained and recently renovated. The staff was very friendly and the dinner at the courtyard was excellent.

Dear Nack Joon, thank you for appreciating the restaurant and the new restoration of the hotel. We are glad that you spent a good time in such historic place like the Fortress! Greetings,
We stayed at the Fort for one night. Very cool to stay in a 12th century fort with modern day amenities like AC!! Nice breakfast and spectacular views getting there. Off the beaten path but worth the journey.

Dear Naomi, we are glad that you could enjoy your stay at the Fortress and that you liked the breakfast too. We hope to welcome you again in the future here in Sorano for a new stay. Greetings
Unbelievable! One of my favourite stays ever. The view was incredible. There was hardly anyone else around. The wifi worked great, free parking close by and free. Lovely village. The pizza at the pizzeria was by far my favourite pizza ever. Told all my friends who want to come and stay. The view from room 6 was incredible. 10/10
What a find! An incredible place with so much character and history. We were so well looked after by the owner. The tasting menu was delicious and a real flavour of the area. The room was simple but very clean with everything you needed. Very comfortable bed. Overall a fantastic find and stay-would highly recommend it and hope to return!
I liked everything about this property. The staff, the owner, the food, the room. It’s just the most unforgettable place we’ve been. I highly recommend it. In fact we told my brother in law about it and he went two days later! Such a wonderful place.
Staff was very friendly, breakfast was fresh and delicious. Cristian the owner came to us to be sure that everything was perfect. Excellent experience, we will be back for sure to this jewel . Augusto
This hotel is in an incredible location. Only downside was that we had to carry heavy suitcase up steep stairs to get to our room. Rooms are quite small, not much room for luggage. Breakfast was basic but good. You also have to leave your car away from the hotel.
Worried when we didn’t think there was a parking lot but a lady told us as we started walking up the hill it was just on the right side. Wonderful hostess. Even met the owner. One of the best stops of our trip. Loved the area especially the little pizza place that you can’t even tell is open down the hill. Walking through the hillside village was very romantic.
The room was very charming and really interesting! We were only there for one night, but the service was excellent. Since we had to leave before their complementary breakfast time, the receptionist graciously offered to send up a breakfast tray. We asked for a couple of items for breakfast that were not standard fare, and our tray arrived before bed time with everything we needed.
Unexpected! A really nice hotel in a Castle! Beautiful hotel in a quaint town perched on a hill overlooking the city! Wonderful! They even arranged a night tour into the hand dug Etruscan valley, and a tour of the fortress! Would Highly Recommend!
Checking in was very difficult because the entrance to the property is 350-400 yards from the parking lot over cobblestones and up stairs. There was no bellman to assist us. Once we got settled the staff and the owner were extremely pleasant. The grounds are beautiful but this is definitely not a hotel for the handicap.
An amazing place to stay, we only wish we could have stayed longer. The area has so much to offer and we were not able to see everything. We will have to come back.
