Wonderful experience
Overall our experience (8 adults and 7 children) was spectacular. The hosts greeted us upon arrival and gave us a detailed overview of the property. The property itself was amazing. A great location a short ways out of town and right on the water. The rental unit was very clean and very spacious which was exactly what our group needed. The highlight of the unit for us was the enclosed porch on the lakeside of the house. It had windows on all sides, was heated and was the best place to watch the sunset (or sit in the morning with coffee as the sky lit up over the water). The bonfire pit near the water was also a big hit. We will definitely be looking into booking this property for future trips to Door County!

Cousins Reunion
Awesome place for our cousins. The accommodations we great, very clean and the view of the lake was beautiful and relaxing. Lots to do at Sisters Bay and the hosts Dave and Debbie were super.

Family Reunion
We rented both houses at Debbie and Dave's property. We had seven people sleeping in the cottage and fifteen people sleeping in the house. We all had a comfortable bed. I thought the bathroom situation might be a problem but to my delight everything went good. We all had a good time and would stay again. The location was convenient especially for visiting Sister Bay.

Wonder Green Bay front property!!
We could not have asked for a more perfect place to stay. The property is right on the water and has all the amenities that our family needed. We have 10 adults and to babies and it was very comfortable. I highly recommend the property!

First annual sibling trip
This property is incredibly beautiful and is in an excellent location. Close enough to town to be convenient but away from the noise. Right on the water. David and Debbie could not have been nicer! Always available if you have questions and very friendly if you just want to chat and find out more about Sister Bay. We are already looking forward to heading back next year!

Great Family Retreat!
My family and I LOVED our stay at Dave and Debbie's cottage. I don't know if I can say enough good things about it! Dave and Debbie are exceptional hosts -- ready to greet you upon arrival (with a cherry pie and donuts no less), and help with anything you need to make your stay perfect. The views of the sunset are amazing, the family enjoyed sitting on the porch, on the dock, or by the firepit in the evenings looking at the view and listening to the sound of the water as it lapped the shore. So much room for our family together time, we never felt crowded or cramped. We will stay here again in a heartbeat! The views and location are perfect.

Great Family Experience
Debbie and Dave couldn’t have made our family trip more perfect. The cottage was well stocked, clean and absolutely the best place for three generations spending time together! Their attention to detail made our time there relaxing and enjoyable. Unfortunately two permanent docks started six months ago made 4 out of 6 days interesting watching though noisy watching backhoes digging and drilling. I know they will be beautiful when finished.

We would stay again in Heartbeat!
We had 12 in our group. We have plenty of room in the house. The house faces the Michigan side. It had an indoor porch/sunroom, two outdoor porches and a fire pit. The house is very close to Sister Bay and all the villages on the upper part of Door County. An example it is 22 minutes to the Washington Island ferry from the house . Plenty of Parking. The owners live next door and were quick to respond to any questions we had and were not intrusive . Deb did have a big cherry pie for us when we arrived. You won't be disapointed!

Great Location
Recently stayed at this property with family (Grandparents, their children/spouses and grandchildren ) during the Fall 50 run. The location was great as is was very near the race start point and obviously it's on the water which was beautiful. We had everything we needed, laundry was super convenient and we had plenty of space. The hosts were great and even let the kids help feed the fish. We hope to stay again!

Awesome house, great location, super great hosts!
My husband and I needed a quick get away for a few days. I had never been to Door County and we were looking forward to exploring the area, We wanted something on the water, and we found this great house. Debbie met us upon arrival, showed us all around the property and even had an amazing cherry pie for us. Super clean and more rooms than we needed. The view was awesome with a great firepit. Debbie and Dave are super nice and very accommodating. We've already started to discuss a summer vacation with all of our friends in 2022. Can't wait to visit again!

Stellar spot on Sister Bay!
A five day fall getaway for our family was enhanced by staying at this expansive property right on the water. Dave and Debbie met us upon arrival with friendly smiles, informed us of the basic layout of the property, and then left us to enjoy our stay. (They were never intrusive, and always smiling and available if we needed anything...not to mention the tasty cherry pie they provided us in the kitchen!). The property has room for larger groups and while we were only four with a toddler and a dog, we felt it allowed each of us space for either family time or solitude. It is not The Ritz, but one feels "ritzy" by the location, the layout, and the cozy feeling of a wonderful waterside home. Thanks so very much!

Nice for a family get together. View from porch is lovely but a bit hard to get to the hosts pier for older persons. Also hard to get down to the fire pit. Nice of host to leave us cherry pie and donuts.

We were staying for long weekend celebrating my father-in-law’s 80th birthday. Debbie/Dave are wonderful to work with. They met us as we arrived. Gave us “tour” of their properties. Very well kept up. Cleanliness through out our house./properties. Friendly great to work with. Very comfy home to come relax in beautiful Door County!

Great place for family to make memories
We had a gathering of 12 for a long weekend. House was clean & Debbie & Dave provided toilet tissue, paper towels, dish & dishwasher soap & laundry detergent in addition to the usual linens. Great selection of cookware & dishes & silverware etc. Also all the things we needed to have a fire in the firepit. There was a power outage due to a storm during our stay & she came to make sure we didn't need anything. Beautiful setting with flowers, fish pond & fantastic view of the water. We especially enjoyed the enclosed porch & view. Thoughtful & caring hosts.

Beautiful setting and spacious home!
We had a fantastic week staying in this spacious home in a picture perfect setting! We had a large family group of older teens and adults, and we had plenty of space and room to spread out. We loved the outdoor deck, the waterfront sunroom, and the multiple chairs and tables for dining outside and enjoying the views. Our only complaint was the lack of a usable dock, which we’d counted on using for the speed boat that we’d brought. The dock is going to be rebuilt sometime in the future, but we would not have hauled a boat had we known the dock was in disrepair. The listing should clarify the current situation. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful, and we had a wonderful week. We would highly recommend this property and feel lucky to have had the opportunity to stay here.

This property had everything covered. All the little things. It is right on the water with super sunsets. Great ice cream shop just a short walk away. The fishing was great off the pier. Lots of room to spread and los of rooms. Great for kids.

A Perfect Stay!
Had a wonderful stay at Dave and Debbie’s place the week following Memorial Day. The place is even more beautiful in person and has everything one needs during a week away; spacious rooms, a terrific location, and a spectacular place to watch the sunset with breezy views of Green Bay. Dave and Debbie were incredible hosts and were so accommodating to our group - we will definitely return soon!

Our weekend getaway with our children, spouses and grand children couldn’t have been better! Dave and Debbie were the perfect host. We were greeted with doughnuts and a cherry pie, both very delicious. The house I slayed out were the bedrooms stay very quiet while the early risers are enjoying the view and morning coffee. We had 2 grandchildren along and they loved playing on the play set in the backyard, fishing, campfires by the lake Nd hiking across the street. We were in walking distance to the ice cream factory and a 10 min drive to Ellison county park where we hiked for 2 hrs . We will definitely stay here again. We stayed in the house for a week. We had everything we needed (kitchen, linens, cleaning products, paper products) and the owners were VERY attentive. The dock was great for parking our boat during the daytime. The only comment we would have would be letting guests know that there was no central air. There were 3 window units in 6 bedrooms and lots of fans, but it was in the high 80s the first two days we were there and it was pretty uncomfortable, especially in the kitchen/dining area, even with all the fans. We had one guest who has health issues and she really had to stay in or near her bedroom during that time. By and large, great property and owners. Would definitely stay again.

-The hosts for this property were extremely friendly and thoughtful -The house is excellent for larger groups (10+ adults) -The view is second to none, truly remarkable -The location in Sister Bay is also perfect, a short walk (1/2 mile) or 1 minute drive to the main drag of town -The only negative is that the other 2 properties are very close to the main house and it didn’t offer the privacy we usually seek. The proximity of the other homes was not represented in the listing photos. Excellent overall stay!

Location, location, location!
This place was perfect for our kids and grandkids to relax and explore Door County. There is plenty of room for everyone, and it was clean and had everything we needed. David & Debbie went out of their way to make sure all of our needs were met. Being right on the Lake was our top priority, and this home delivered that in a spectacular way! We’d love to return!

Life long friends weekend
We are a group of six couples who's wives have been life long friends, some meeting in kindergarten and first grade! This was the first time we all decided to do a weekend together! The house was perfect. Lots of space to sit and talk, play games, have a campfire, grill out, and cook. It was ideally location to Sister Bay helps since we stayed during Sister Bay Fest. Perfect in every way!
Our girls trip to the Sunset Cottage was amazing in so many ways! We had 10 gals for a birthday celebration for family. The communication with David and Debbie was great. They were there upon our arrival to greet us to the home and give us a few tips about the house. The house is in a perfect location and very close to the downtown area of Sister Bay. You could walk to town to dine and shop. Right on the Lake/Bay with incredible views in all directions. We took the bikes out and went for a few peaceful walks. The house was huge and so easy to accommodate so many people. 4 bedrooms upstairs with large rooms and plenty of storage closets. 2 full bathrooms upstairs as well. Downstairs has 2 bedrooms as well with a half bathroom. In between the bedrooms is a large living room and a large kitchen and dining area. Just off the kitchen is a beautiful 3 seasons room overlooking the lake. The house had everything we could of needed. (Note to owner: maybe replace the can opener). We had a heck of a time opening cans with it. We made several meals in the house and like I said, it is well equipped to accommodate any meal you’d like to make. The beds were comfortable and cozy. We didn’t use the laundry room but it’s very big. We brought our own games but the home does have lots of them. The weather was kind of the pits as Door County was having extreme wind and it was cold and raining and it still didn’t really dampen our experience. I could go on and on about this property but I’ll just finish by saying it REALLY was perfect in every way and we will be back!

Amazing views in upper Door County
David’s property was perfect for our friends and their families while we were in Door County for a wedding. It has ample space, beautiful views of the lake, and is spotless to boot. The apple pie and donuts were a great added touch! We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again in the near future or recommend others to stay at this beautiful property.

Family Get Away
We rented the end of July 2019. The property owners, Debbie and Dave were very welcoming and the home we rented was very clean with all the amenities one would need. We were three generations coming together for fun. This was a great place for a large group, beds for everyone and as Dave told the kids, many hiding places which they were happy to explore. The kids enjoyed fishing off dock because the fish were biting. We appreciated being able to bring our dogs, however if you have a dog that is a constant yapper you might think twice about bringing since properties are close. I recommend renting this property and thanks to Debbie and Dave for your hospitality and offering such a wonderful place to stay. .

Quintessential Door County Home on Lake Michigan
Our entire extended family (including 4 families) loved our stay on this beautiful property. It was a great place to cook, hang out, read (especially on the back porch), play games, swim, fish, and bike (the owners make available up to 20 bikes for use during one's stay). Dave and Debbie were very available and attended to our every need. And this property is located very close to downtown Sister Bay (our favorite spot in Door County). I highly recommend this rental property!

Our hosts David and Deb could not have been more accommodating during our stay at their property. Our group of 11 had The Big Red Cottage which had plenty of room to enjoy each other’s company. Great time had at Sunset Shore
We had an awesome time at Sunset Shore! Dave and Debbie were the ultimate hosts, greeting us upon arrival with Door County cherry pies! Their "Red Cottage" was perfect for our families - we had 14 adults and two children under 5 staying with us. The facilities are appropriately named... we were graced with a beautiful sunset each night. Some of us fished from the pier... caught a few nice small mouths. Some of us biked and hiked; others took in a nice walk to shopping in Sister Bay. We all enjoyed ice cream at the top of the hill... a short walk from the cottage. We're looking into renting again next year... just need to get our calendars aligned. Thank you Debbie and Dave for sharing your beautiful place with us!

The house we rented in Sister Bay WI was the perfect way to experience the area. As our home base we explored much of Door County and Washington Island. We have been to the area many times (by land and by sea) and this was the best trip ever. I can’t say enough about our hosts. They are friendly, warm and work hard to make this a property that you want to return to.
