"We had a lovely stay, the staff were very helpful and super friendly they responded to all queries very politely. Our room was very clean except a couple of peanuts in shells on the carpet. The hotel is a a bit dated but it does add to the character. Breakfast was reasonable, there was a good variety of options on the menu but the portion was a bit on the small side. I would say the hotel offers good value for money"

"We have just left the hotel. From very friendly staff at reception, bar and spar nothing was a problem. The spar is a hidden gem. And we booked through Hotels.com and got the 5 days for half price! Bonus! We used it every day. Only eaten once in restaurant and Happy hour at the Bar, well happy 3 hours! 4-7. Would definitely visit again."

"The room was clean and well serviced. All staff were friendly, helpful and polite. We appreciated daily breakfast but being coeliac I would have liked more g f alternatives. air conditioning worked well but could have done with bedsude lights which were either not working or not provided"

"The big plus is the swimming pool / jacuzzi / steam room and the very well equipped gym. The room was very pleasant and well appointed and the bed very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food and drinks were good. If I had to be critical I would say the buffet breakfast was poor with no pastries or fresh fruit salad, bread for toasting etc. There were cooked breakfast choices from the menu but if you are a continental breakfast type person it wasn't great value. The lodge could do with some sprucing up externally but inside the decor was fresh and well put together with a more individual feel than you get at Premier Inn or Travelodge. The forest like setting was lovely however and we would definitely return if the opportunity presents itself."
