"Wensleydale pub and hotel in a great location in this picturesque village. As a pub,the fifteenth century inn works well with a choice of good beers. As a hotel, it's a disaster with very shabby ,cold rooms poorly furnished and with many defects. I can make allowances for the age of the property and the effects of the storm but the lack of basic maintenance and absence of customer focus is appalling. The heating system is capable but needs to be available 24 hours in rooms with no insulation and draughty windows. The attitude of the management team is defensive rather than accepting responsibility and correcting or fixing what is wrong/broken. Learn from my bad mistake and avoid this hotel. "

"Gardenwell Cottage was exactly what I was looking for a for a few days 'me time'. It is comfortable and cosy and very well equipped. I loved all the books on Yorkshire! Lots of walking from the door with no need to use the car at all. It's a shame there's no longer a pub or shop in Burtersett, but I'd brought everything I needed with me :-)"

"Such a wonderful stay. We had a lovely welcome from Jo on arrival. The yurt was just perfect. Beautiful setting and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The food in the evening we ordered was delicious as was the breakfast delivered directly to our yurt. It felt very spoiling. We also enjoyed the two friendly chickens who came to visit. "

"We had a fantastic time at this amazing place. We had lots of people but there are so many places to hang out that it never felt crowded. The quality of bedding ,towels etc was superb. Games room and cinema rooms were well used. Will be back soon ."
