"This has to be one of the most friendly hotels we've ever stayed in. From the two hugely welcoming guys on Reception when we checked in to the absolutely amazing lady, called Tam, in the breakfast restaurant, everyone was so polite, helpful and genuinely happy to be of assistance. The buffet breakfast was piping hot and had a really good selection of items to suit everyone, and is great value for money if you book at Reception in advance. However, we ordered room service one lunchtime and the paninis were hard and had almost zero filling in them. I had a 4 cheese and red onion one and I couldn't see any cheese in it whatsoever. At £12 each plus a 5 tray charge, they weren't enjoyable, were almost inedible, and were definitely not worth the money. The hotel has dog-friendly rooms, and the extensive grounds surrounding the hotel are great if you're travelling with a dog, like we were, or if you just enjoy a stroll. On the plus side the staff are truly amazing and really make an effort to make you feel welcome. On the negative side the walls in the room we stayed in were paper thin, to the point we could hear whole conversations from next door, and the room service is expensive with poor quality food. We would definitely stay again, mainly due to the location and the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. But we'd definitely avoid the room service."

"Saw very few staff around. Couple of times reception was deserted for prolonged periods and no one was on the bar either. Maybe just low staffing levels that weekend. Staff we did encounter were friendly. Hotel is clean but a little old fashioned with its decor and felt slightly shabby in the corridors. Room had comfortable beds and a great refurbished bathroom. Parking was plentiful & it’s in a very convenient location. Would stay again if needed to be in the area"

"Very much a party/wedding venue. A very large hotel and hard to park anywhere near the entrance. Room was good and although wedding going on it was quiet in the room."

"Room beautifully refurbished and clean. Hotel restaurant billing error, no refund as yet. Restaurant discounts available for staying guests. Shared car park good value but needs cleaning and bins, ashtrays overflowing. Staff friendly. Scaffolding on outside of hotel for long term refurb. View from room window obstructed by same scaffolding. AC very good during Aug 2026 heatwave"
